Yeah, definitely, an animal product free raw food diet is very good for detoxifying your body.  Personally, I love cooking, and I love cooked food, so its difficult for me, but I've done it before and felt really great.  Something to do with enzymes that are broken down during the cooking process?  My friend's doctor also recommends she go on a raw food diet whenever her lupus acts up.

Juice fasts would likely be very unhealthy.  Fruit has a lot of sugar in it. I assume people would prefer fruit juice to vegetable juice, and drink it for the majority of the fast.

a yoga teacher from my training recommended three weeks of no meat, no dairy, no processed foods, as a cleansing and i might try that this spring (already pretty much do not eat meat anyway).

this is a good idea, but make sure you still get some protein... eat some nuts, legumes, beans and rice, etc, doesn't have to be much... but yeah, a great way to do a detox is just focus on veggies and fruit, raw foods, high fiber, tons of vitamins

Yeah, cheese is my guilty pleasure.  If it wasn't for cheese, I'd be a vegan for sure.

fat is bad, you want your body to have as little fat on it as possible for men and as little as possible for women but make sure they still have their period.

The purpose of fat? Annoy you lol.  Fat comes when you surpass your caloric needs so fat people do shit wrong in their diets(obviously)

omg.....

the purpose of fat is to store 2.5x more energy per gram. It was meant to be used as a reserve for when food becomes scarce/hard to find- although this does not apply to man made society.

so are you trying to say having excess fat is good..?  I know what fat is and I know that for men the less you have the better, that's what I was explaining.

it's common knowledge a woman can actually lose so much fat she stops having her period? bravo if you were born with that information instilled into you.

Btw I have fasted on occasion, but only for spiritual reasons, and before taking certain psychedelics, so I am glad to hear that you are not fasting to lose weight. Just be careful when you do, to drink plenty of water, bc getting dehydrated can lead to a lot of complications , and you could end up in the er.

Good luck with your fast, and with your mescal experience.

Be careful not to drink too much water too.  Water flushes out carbs and water soluble nutrients.  Without eating, you'll likely be more susceptible to water overdose (which can cause a diabetic coma).

I'd suggest drinking some tea, to replenish at least some of the minerals.  I'd also suggest that you only drink when you're thirsty.

Supposedly doing it every other day or at the least once a week is beneficial.

Two days ago i fasted for the majority of the day but around 10 pm. i finally cracked.

Yesterday i ate alot cause we went out for my aunts B-day.

Today im going to try not to have anything but water.

And beer if the guys are drinkin today.

wish me luck

for a man with no food, the smartest thing he can do is fast.
