Very strange (or normal?) trip report (shrooms), help wanted.

I’ve done shrooms a couple of times, but this one was by far very different from any of the others. I’ve been wondering about it for some time, so I decided to post here to see if it sounds normal to anyone. So, here’s how this all started, I ran into an old friend of mine who is now a dealer. I was looking desperately for LSD (as I always am), but as usual he had none. But he did have shrooms, so I bought those. I paid $25, and boy was I surprised with what he gave me.
It was one shroom, I’m not sure the weight because I didn’t have a scale at the time. It was absolutely massive, as long as the bag it was in, and the cap was about the size of four quarters next to each other. The veil was not torn. I would guess the length of the stem at 5-6 or so inches, and it curved abruptly at the base. And it was fairly thick.
The dose I took was half the cap and the entire stem. I was prepared for a low dose, since it was a single shroom. I was very, very wrong. It took almost two hours to kick in, the first thing I noticed was how incredibly cold I got all over my body. I was playing tetris when it finally started to kick in. The blocks became very bright, and the edges were incredibly defined, almost as if there was a subtle black line around the edge of everything. This effect was even more pronounced when I looked away from the computer. I suspected nothing unusual.
After about five minutes of this, I suddenly realize that all the objects around me are starting to wave and bend. When this happens, I look at the dresser and watch as the drawers seem to melt and float around in the general area of the dresser. I looked in a nearby mirror and noticed the edges of my face were expanding, contracting and moving in waves. I continued on the computer, thinking it wouldn’t get worse.
A few minutes later, I swear I saw a swirl of incredibly bright lights on the wall beside me, but when I looked at it there was nothing. I looked back to my computer and a few minutes later it happened again. It was then that I noticed a certain amount of blue and red “static” (like television static) that seemed to cover everything, but was very faint. It began to get brighter, and brighter, and to form into patterns, and I kept thinking “Jesus, how far is this going to go?” Compared to a DXM trip, it felt very suddenly like I was crossing plateau after plateau, in waves. During this stage, I could still think clearly.
Then suddenly something happened that I cannot explain. It was like I broke through. I looked over at my girlfriend and saw an image of her that I will never forget. It was as if all the colors in the room had been completely inverted such that the room was suddenly very dark. Her face was incredibly distorted, her eyes glowed very brightly, and there were random large pixilated patterns of color all over her face. She spoke to me and I suddenly panicked because I couldn’t understand anything she was saying. It all came out as gibberish. I could tell she was moving her lips, and could hear sound, but it was all completely gibberish.
Then I thought, I’d better lay down if I can’t explain to her that I can’t understand her. I tried to make my way to the bed, but as soon as I stood up, it became absolutely overwhelming. Everything exploded into incredibly bright neon colors and pixilated patterns. There were a hundred million patterns, geometric shapes and different colors on every surface that were changing so fast that I couldn’t hold on to any of them. And there was this terrible, horrible screeching roar as if the whole universe was coming to an end. Some surfaces were very noticably a very bright single color. I remember the top of my desk was suddenly a very bright solid green, even though it had a wood texture.
I couldn’t move my body very well at all, and almost fell over onto the bed. I tried to move things off the bed, but couldn’t because everything was exploding into a collage of random colors, shapes and patterns changing very, very quickly. I looked back at my girlfriend for help, and the whole floor turned bright, bright neon orange with bright blue dots. It was then I noticed how amazingly distorted my depth perception had become.
Though my girlfriend was perhaps five feet away, it looked like she was over twenty feet away down this bright orange road of my floor. Her body was completely distorted and seemed incredibly small from such a distance. I asked for help clearing off the bed and it seemed to come out very slowly.
She came over and cleared off the bed, and I remember staring through her legs. Her legs were glowing bright yellow (even though she was wearing blue jeans), and the floor was a constantly changing pattern of orange and greens. And even better, where the edge of her pants should have been, there was instead a random arrangement of patterened pixels. It was very strange.
Finally I managed to lay down, and I starred at the wall for what seemed like forever, not knowing what else to do. The blank white wall was now filled with colors and geometric figures changing faster than I’ve ever seen anything change. The predominant colors were red, orange, yellow, green and blue. All were neon, and brighter than the sun.
After an undeterminable amount of time, I decided I must leave the room so as not to scare my girlfriend by saying something that was complete gibberish. By this point I was having a very hard time thinking. Single phrases and words kept repeating themselves in my mind, growing louder and louder, seemingly uncontrollable.
I went to the bathroom and experienced similar closed and open eye visuals for another roughly three hours before it went back to everything being “simply wavy”. Strange images would flash across my entire view for what seemed like less than a fraction of a second. They were normally colored geometric shapes like squares and lines. My thought process was totally uncontrollable, and I struggled to even think about thinking about what I was thinking. It was just chaos and color, it felt like being in a hurricane. And then there was the sound!
There was this deafening sound, like the opening to Pink Floyd’s Time played over and over, but infinitely more electronic sounding. It sounded like random incredibly high pitched notes played incredibly loudly in small 3-4 note patterns over and over. It sounded very much like an arcade when a bunch of games are going off, like a hundred bells ringing and buzzing and whirring. It also reminded me of the sound effects of old Nintendo games, as if millions of them were playing on top of each other at random. The sound was absolutely deafening and surprisingly complex in pattern. It disappeared before the flashes of images were completely gone.
Total time from start to finish was 6 hours, but that IS NOT including the TWO hours it took the trip to start. I have never, ever, ever experienced something like this on shrooms before or since. Have I simply not taken a high enough dose before or since? Does this sound like a normal reaction to any of you? I almost never read any trip reports like this trip, and I’ve always been curious. Was this normal? What dose do you think I took? I’ve heard that it is not impossible that dealers occasionally put LSD on shrooms, perhaps he had what I was looking for after all? I have never done LSD, so I can’t compare. However, I know that LSD kicks in in under 40 minutes and it took 2 hours for this to kick in. Any thoughts?

Completely unusual, which is completely normal for mushrooms. I don't know how else to tell you that you tripped, and there was nothing weird about it except for the fact that tripping is weird, and unusual... If that answers your question. Doesn't sound like there was anything wrong with the mushrooms psychoactivity.

Yeah that sounds pretty much like a level 5 trip. They are extrememly rare, but they do happen. Chances are you will never have a trip like that again in your life.

Yeah, sounds like something akin to a heroic dose.

this is completely normal. i'm surprised you didn't get caught in a timeloop. and the shapes you saw, were they fractals?

Totally normal and it's happened to me.
My story:
I had taken an 8th of shrooms, and I had an 8th left over, and about an hour and a half later I wasn't tripping so I drank a bunch of orange juice, then I figured what the hell and ate the rest.
Bad idea. Bear in mind this was the third trip of my life and I'd never taken more than a 16th.
I walked to a friend's house and we had, well, a really fucking deep conversation about the recent death of her boyfriend, among other stuff I can't remember. Anyway, there came a point where I remarked that the wooden floor in her house reminded me of the principal's office in my grade school (which, seriously, has the exact same shade of wood on the floor...)
Then I saw colored streamers on the walls, and told her that her house looked like it was decorated for a birthday party. This was definitely NOT the case and she said I ought to start heading home, and then she went into her room and shut the door. Well, as I sat alone in her living room, all my my family members started appearing just outside my periphral vision and asking me repeatedly, "What do you think not going to [my university] means?" I didn't know what the hell that meant, I guess that I was going to get expelled over this, and I pretty much sat there and talked to myself for a while. Anyway at some point I really had to pee, so I stumbled into the bathroom, but I kinda forgot about the whole unzipping business so I peed all over my pants and into my shoe. (I hope she didn't notice...) I was trying to leave her house but I couldn't figure out how to open the little bullshit doorknob lock, you know, not the deadbolt. So I sat around a while longer. It had probably been an hour since she went to bed at this point. I thought I heard her laughing through the wall, dunno if she was awake or what, but it seemed to me that she was playing some kind of trick on me so I walked into her room. Well she jumped right up and said "JIM. You need to go home NOW." and helped/shoved me out the door.
Well at this point I had no idea who or where I was really. I had this HUGE fucking grin on my face; I can only liken my feelings to holding a winning Powerball ticket, for some ungodly reason. I walked around her backyard for some time, because I wasn't really sure which way was home anymore, but eventually I found her driveway, and I walked out to the curb and the scene was unrecognizable to me. For lack of a better option, I sat down in her driveway and waited. At this point I was feeling pretty shitty; my stomach hurt and I was extremely cold and sniffly because it was 20 degrees aside and I had already pissed myself. Eventually I just plopped over onto my back. I remember seeing small children frozen in time playing across the street, and then time started looping.
It went like this: the wind would howl, the car in the next driveway would start up, and then I'd look at this tree and all the leaves would crystallize into this fractal/fern kinda pattern, and then time would just stop. I thought I was watching the heat death of the universe, the end of time. I also thought that the Republicans were on their way to kidnap or imprison me, and I had pretty much resigned myself to this being the last night of my life. I watched this scene repeat itself for two real-world hours, i.e. several trip-days.
Anyway, then this one black guy walks by and says, "YO. You alright, man? YO!" At which point I snapped out of it, silently got up and walked into her backyard, waited for him to leave, and then ran home like a motherfucker. All the way home, the houses looked like fake little doll houses, and everyone I passed was staring at me, which I of course thought meant 'they knew' but actually it was more like I was running around at 4 in the morning like a crackhead. Anyway, I finally made it back home safely.
And then I had to go to work at 8 with that same friend. Talk about the longest night and day of my life...

computer esque visuals happen because you have a computer in your brain from eating chips when you were a kid.. sorry but it happens.. they control it, sons of bitches... oh yea the end of the universe is happening as we speak, its when all this computer shit starts to malfunction for real.. no more phony shit.. we get to have our real shroom trips back, and most the time were not gonna trip hard at all, IF EVEN at all from homegrowns.. really. were just gonna have to pick that shit ourselves in nature.. oh yea, and aliens "coming back" was literally suppose to signify the spores coming back, hence more mushrooms.... sorry if i explained things to quickly but thats just whats gonna happen.
