That is fine. I am not trying to insult your photography, I am just saying that it does not make a good case. I welcome anyone to find some detailed photos of any species that resemble the ones in this thread. They do not need to be your own photo.

These are interesting.
I think they are Psilocybe azuruginascens!

They look to me like the Mushrooms Demystified incorrectly labeled color plate of P. cyanescens, which was found out later to be P. Cyanofriscosa (I think).
I'm not saying that is what the mushrooms in question are, just that they remind me of that picture...

Those are Psilocybe azurescens.., the color is highly variable in all hygrophanous psilocybe species.

Hey, thanks for all the help! I really appreciate it. Sorry, the pictures I posted were not great, it was late and my eyes were blurry from sleepiness. The right two have a distinct broad umbo that matches the pictures I have seen of P Azurescens pretty much exactly (of course, that's not saying much, I know). The left two are both smaller than the others, but they have umbo's that look like they are broadening as well.
None of the mushrooms had that ring thing around the stipe (don't remember what it's called - I'm new, sorry).
Initial bruising was almost immediate for all 4 (within 10 minutes, I'd say evident within 5).
The pale ones have given a definite purple-brown spore print, but for some reason after overnight isolation under glass on white paper the right ones have not printed - any tips on how to help them do that?
These were found along the north coast of Oregon within 200yds of the ocean.
Thanks again for all of your help - I hope to have more to ask you about soon!

well, in this case, I'd guess they're azures, but I don't have experience with those, only p subaeruginascens, and the first photo pictured actually looks a little like a cross between the two, and some of it might be from handling
anyway, because it's the north coast of Oregon, and not in the Bay Area, it's more likely to be azures
next time try to get some habitat shots. p subaeruginascens aren't usually in the grass like cyans and azures, but it has been documented before
especially on the beach like that
also. PS...it really is kind of hard to tell from the photos.. I see some forking in the gills, and the stems seem a little dark for both azures and subaeruginascens. I think I see a near nipple on one, making it closer to azures.
need more photos...go back out there and find some more...hahaha

That plus the dune grass habitat makes P. azurescens a likely option. I am not dismissing the other options at all, but I would still put my money on P. azurescens.
