Is senescence subject to fruitbodies?
    #11238943 - 10/13/09 10:38 AM (2 years, 7 months ago)

If I hypothetically do g2g transfer about 4 times (or however number of times for senescence to set in) and then I fruit that batch of jars, if I wanted to clone that particular fruit by just dropping it in a grain jar or an LC, will I experience senescence?  Of course the spores will be fine, but will the actual fruitbody be subject to senescence?

I would think so.  Senseace occurs after so many cell divisions.  By cloning and growing the clone you are producing more senseance

That answer is correct. Senescence refers to an effect of the longevity of the cell line- the number of divisions since mating took place.

This is one of those questions that could be answered with a quick look at the search page or the glossary. That's probably why you had to bump it.
