Is this jar ok to use for making cakes?

All I could find, it is 1/2 pint. If I need something different let me know so I can return them. Thank you!

If you're doing cakes make sure the jars are wide mouth.
If it has a lid and can be PCed its good to go.
If it isnt wide mouth you cant slide the cake out in 1 complete piece.

Well it is slightly tapered, not widemouthed and there is no shoulder I don't see how widemouthed would make much of difference only with shape there is no obstruction for the cake to slide out.

Thats not entirely true, if its not tapered it might be harder to slide out but not impossible. From the look of your pic your jar is more then adequate for this use.
I personally use nothing but tall half pint jars,I have had nothing but the best success with them.
I have even done side by side test with tall to short widemouth jars with exact results.

my first grow was in tall jars it makes the cake a bitch to get out but the ones i got out yeilded nicely
