anyone else deathly afriad of tripping?

Seriously ive only tripped a handful of times in my life, and the times I took enough to trip it was way to intense and scary for me. I simply could not handle it, I get very anxious and paranoid. My body goes into fight or flight mode and the trip swerves in the wrong direction it seems.
I don't think im comfortable losing my ego and losing control of reality. and now im afraid to do it anymore because all this is in the back of my head and I feel like I will just go into it with expectations of a bad trip, thus creating a bad trip.
I think I might be super sensitive to psilocybin aswell because the highest dose ive ever taken was 2 grams, although im very skinny. This pails in compare to some peoples doses.
Anyone else share these same experiences? talk me into trying it again. Maybe ill try it with xanax.

Actually, that is hard to say.
Mescaline trips are just as unsettling. I get anxious, start throwing all sorts of shit in the trash, start hating myself, and pretty much go through the same roller coaster of good and bad thoughts.
BUT, my mind was very clear in comparison. If I were to take shrooms, I feel very dumb and confused when trying to gather my thoughts. I can do my homework, have a conversation with my parents, and do many other things just fine when I'm on mescaline though. I also feel like I have much more control of the trip.

Quit using psychedelics, they do not suit your mind set.
Continuing to use them may trigger dormant mental illness.

take more. lie there, eyes closed and well just give it consent to rape your brain inside and fucking out dude. the 3 most important words for bad trips: DONT FIGHT IT. everytime ive been freakin out, i say those words to myself.
5 minutes later i was running around screaming/singing "DONT FIGHT IT! DONT FIGHT IT!"
helps me. dont forget the words. fighting a trip is like holding in a piss. if you leave it too long you will fucking explode and it will just be fucking horrible, or you could just let it rip and forget that you ever even needed to piss!

Sorry things are too intense for you. Try having your girlfriend beat the shit out of you while tripping together and keeping your better judgment and not hit back. I sat there and took punches to the face. Luckily it didn't hurt. Til this day I'm still weary and keep an open eye around her.
I'll never trip again, with her at least.

You have a funny idea of what better judgement is. Equality means you can punch the bitch back.

I don't think I would go that far as to say im mentally ill. I just don't handle the confusion of psychedelics well. I really don't want to quit forever, I just need to get my head in the right place

McKenna said that when you're getting in to a negative thought loop to put on your favorite song and sing. Not only does it ground you in some sort of familiarity with the real world, it also gets oxygen into your brain and resets and refocuses your thoughts.
Next time, SING.

ill def try that thanks. Music worked for one of my bad trips, I put a soothing song on repeat and finally just surrender and closed my eyes. The horrible come up was hardly worth it though. Way to anxious.

I used to feel that way. You just have to desensitize yourself to it and not fight it.

for one of my trips, smoking bud made it worse. Infact it turned a perfectly comfortable trip uncomfortable. but weed makes me paranoid even not on mushrooms so I guess its relative.
