2 Panaeolus cinctulus on the left, 2 Panaeolina foenisecii on the right. 2 different angles.

the two mushrooms on the left had black spores, the two mushrooms on the right had brown spores.
I assumed this in the field based on slight variations in gill tint and overall stature of the mushroom, it was confirmed by spore prints.
if you see a particular mushroom a few hundred times all over the world im sure u will recognize it instantly as well.

my comparison was sort-of showing how they can resemble each other down to very small detail. I thought the foes looked very much like a cinc.
one time I printed a batch of like 1000 foenisecii cause I was sure at least one of them was a cinc.

yeah ive had a lot of confusing contrasting moments lol. like its hard to determine subbs from foes around here because the subbs have browner gills just like foes when young so thats confusing. but eh theres no harm in eatin a few foes.. I guess the golden rule of spore printing still stands.
Oh, and that reminds me, ive been finding what look like foes around where i pick my subbs, but the gills are completely new to me. they are brown, just like a foe, everything else (cap and stem) resemble a subb or foe, but the gills are all feathery, sort of like free flowing, not sturdy at all just sorta hangin there. its weird ill take a pic of them if i go today.

i didn't get the chance to photograph these before they dried out.
i couldn't get it to show in the picture, but the basal mycellia blued nicely in two specimens:

they where growing in the grass i haven't weeded lately next to my tomatoes.

Along a path I walk this night, clear to no other eyes than mine.
In faerie circles perchance I might, hope Elven honey bread to find.
Over stream and tangled root I leap, o'er bough and slumbering badger's keep.
Under hoary oak and willow I bound, to find such groves as can be found,
the sating mushrooms; spring's delight, as gifts from figures of the night.

Depends, I can't speak for the ones off poo, but the the potency varies greatly, All I gathered around here, took me 27.5 DRY grams for some very almost unnoticible visual warping, and a minor case of the giggles. Now I just print them and toss em, That was the most terrible chocolate milkshake I have ever experienced

Ive been eating park grass cinctulus and it takes me about five grams dry to see minor warping. Ive eaten ten dry grams and had about a level three body/mind trip, then picked another dry ten grams from the same spot and had a level one. Like Bipolardox, my experiences with the potency of panaeolus cinctulus varies. I can pick a cinctulus thats twice as potent as the one a few seconds before and theres no easy way to tell. so its a gamble but its always worth it i guess.
