My advice would be to do it cheaply.
You can buy brand new computers from Walmart for under $300. I think you'd need a low enough price point so that someone doesn't just go buy a new one.

I'd most likely look for places near my area, or word of mouth.

also something you can do is offer a service no other company does. You can drive to their locations to fix it on the spot or take it with you if you need more time to work on a problem that will eliminate the problem of customers being closer to your competitors then they would be to you if they had to drive.

Try multi-tasking on a 300 dollar pc, and then tell me it was worth it. Integrated sound/gfx, slow processor, 256mb ram and absolutely no expandability/upgrade ability. You get what you pay for when it comes to computers and electronics.
I charge 25.00 just to look at a PC, then depending on whats wrong with it, we go from there. If people complain, I tell them to go to Geek Squad. They always call me back. Prices are the same for everyone but family (10% discount). FIRM. This is how I make a living and people cannot expect to get support for free when it cost me 30 grand worth of schooling and cert tests to be able to do the work.
I charge: Ram install/upgrade = 25.00 gfx/sound card install/upgrade = 30.00 processor install/upgrade = 60.00 motherboard install/upgrade = 120.00 power supply install/upgrade = 30.00
Virus/Malware removal = 50.00 App install/config = 25.00-50.00
enterprise level work, build/config of servers, exchange boxes, AD config, etc.. are on a significantly higher price scale.

Donovan's the man
EDIT - aw, shit wrong vid. cant find the right one but its on the buttery ass mondays site.
basically he says to get $60 (or more, or less) in singles from the bank, then write your company's website on the bills (its not illegal, check out the "where's george?" people. been doin it for years, didnt get in trouble and theres an explanation why on their site) and then bring the bills to a store where your clientele most likely shop. Ask the cashier if you can trade him the singles for 20's (cash registers ALWAYS need singles from all the small bills they're always giving out so they'll do it for sure). Next time the guy gives a customer change, he's also handing him a bill with your company's website on it. Free advertising.
