Hey shroomers,
Has anyone had any luck with locating p.s (libs) in ireland yet, I am in the south and i have made a few atempts to hunt,in two reliable spots and a few new, but nothing yet, although i have found many unidentified(to me) mushrooms which was interesting!
Any irish trippers want to help me out with that?? any in the south?? cork?? or should i wait for the next rain since it has been quite dry??
all replies are apprieciated..

I don't think it's cold enough yet to find significant numbers.

I picked over three hundred in about 2 hours in August after a few days of heavy rain. Temperature is right just wait for lots of rain. Rain = mushrooms.

I spent a couple of hours hunting in limerick yesterday and found only 3 libs. All the fields I was in were bone dry though so just waiting for a good rain.

Nothing around Dublin either. I've found a grand total of 8 so far. Miserable. Finally got some rain but now the frost is coming to shut it down for this year.

What a difference a drop of rain makes! I had only a half hour to spare after work this evening so I hit the field that is closest to my house. Just for fun and to keep me concentrating, I set a 20 minute time limit for picking - just as well or I could have picked long into the night. There was not a solitary mushroom of any kind in this field 2 days ago and now there was a patch every 3-4 steps. Lots of pans and other species that didn't interest me but then I saw the first little straw-coloured wizard hat smiling up at me...and then another....and another and so on until 20 minutes later I had 125 in the bag and hadn't picked more than a quarter of the field. Tomorrow should be insane!!!

I went out for a good walk around today. Nothing yet, just a few ink caps and stropharia. I think its still a little warm down this way. I was walking around the field in a t-shirt today, not a good sign!
