Yeah, I'm aware of torrents, but I'm not big on downloading music without paying anymore. Partly because of morale reasons, but also because my ISP shut my internet off once before and sent a letter telling me to stop downloading shit. I like what I bought from buckethead so far, so I figure I'll just keep buying one album at a time and see how it goes.

I dig Phish and all, but come on.

Yeah, my sentiments exactly.
I just laughed that one off.
When I was 21, 90% of my buddies would have said the same thing about Trey.
Of coarse, 90% of my buddies then had never heard of Grant Green, Wes Montgomery, or Pat Martino.
This dude actually had to learn to play guitar twice.
After an aneurysm, he awoke from a coma to be surprisingly informed that he was at one time a highly revered guitarist.

lmao please dont tell me you are talking about the guy from phish. he deserves no more guitar worship than jerry garcia does. garcia done nothing out of this world on the guitar and neither has trey. he definitely doesn't push the boundaries of what's traditionally thought to be guitar playing. whens the last time phish dropped an album and people just stopped what they were doing and said "my god this guitar playing is REVOLUTIONARY?!"
if such a time has ever existed rest assured it was probably a statement made by some hippie who'd been following the band for years and years.
Hate Phish all you want, which I know you do, but Trey is an amazing guitarist. Best ever? I don't think so, but still up there when he is on.
As for being revolutionary, think improvisation and composition. Granted you'll just call it guitar wankery or something, but hey.
Trey > Dave Mustaine
Swyf, I'm with you on that one. The best living guitar player is probably some jazz player that 99% of people have never even heard of.

But I'm not a guitar expert. His music in general really appeals to me.
