MATTHEWS, N.C. -- Surveillance video obtained by Channel 9 Eyewitness News on Monday evening shows a major drug bust from Saturday night where agents recovered more than half a ton of marijuana.
The video shows a tractor trailer backing into an auto repair garage on Independence Boulevard in Matthews.
Soon after, drug agents with guns in hand rushed the garage and arrested five men. Agents found 1,300 pounds of marijuana.
"Sure enough, about 30 minutes later we heard a helicopter flying around and they had the lights down on them," said Adam Lockard, a witness to the raid. "There was probably 35 officers out front there," Lockard said.
The five men arrested will be back in federal court on Thursday.
It sucks because thats where I live and now everything around here is EXTREMELY DRY

Wouldn't it be funny if the Mexicans bundled up the shittiest weed they have and paid off some driver to take a dive and had their own informant tip off the DEA to avert their attention while smuggling in better weed in larger quantities in the same area?
They make so much money that a half ton of schwag is nothing probably also grew it in a forest for cheap (cost of supplies) so it would hardly put a dent in the operation.
Doesn't matter or say how the quality is (mostly never does) they just want to put "Half Ton of Pot" in headlines.

Yeah, it grows on trees. Its also really only harvested once a year outdoors, and now would be a month or two before harvest, prime time to jack up prices on what remaining product you have from last year.
I hate pot snobs, they're as bad as any other kind of snob.

50$ a pound for anything seems unrealistic.. No offense, but I doubt you have a hook for anything remotely that cheap. I could sell an ounce of schwiggy for 35$ a piece all day.. I've known folks to pay 50$ a zip.. If your only objective was to make a point and not speak facts.. Then alright... =P

ok that makes me mad cuase if u saw this weed you would know why i get it 50 a pop and on other hand i can get some fire redgy for 4 bills that isnt cheap but cheaper then most can get some good redgy
