Freegan Finds - Listing my treasures from down low!

Last Night
I got a leather suitcase, in perfect working order with no scratches. (estimated value - 50-100 dollars.
Clothing - I got an old navy pair of linen summer pants. (PErfect, almost new) 30-40 Dollars. Various female sweaters - old navy, polo and american eagle. Close to 8, each at 30-60 dollars each. Brand new, no rips tears.
Last night I cashed in about 400-500 dollars worth of goods.
Not to mention a smile from a sense of renewal that shopping seems to give.
Post your finds, I will update mine ever more.
To make this semi-quasi-philosophical, I have the following question;
Would you ever take from a 'salvation army' drop box? Is it ethically incorrect? ETc.
Personally, I would and have because they take it and sell it, while i take it for free. I also actually am completly broke and spend all my money on transport and food. Shopping is fun, Cant wait to see whats in store for me tonite.

If you got to places like TSC,Wallmart,Canadian tire, or Princess auto, And look in the dumpster, they put returned items in there, rather than ship back to manufacturer fix and ship back! It is cheaper for them to just write it off! They are suposta spray paint a red line on them,or cut the power cords but they never do
So just go there at night, remove the items from the dumpster, which are usually still in there box's/packages. Take them home, and return for a refund the next day.make sure you take it back to a different store location.Incase they remember that item,But it really does not matter because They cant prove shit lol You wont need a receipt! They will just give you store credit or a gift card!

Many times! You could also switch bar codes! Say for example you want to buy a microwave, And the store has one for $50 and one for $200, Just take a box cutter, and cut the bar code off of the box for the $50 one, Take it home scan onto computer and print on label, Take it to the store and place it over the bar code on the $200 one, And wammo bammo 75% off lol You can do this with just about everything....................
EDIT: But keep in mind, that it is Illegal! Probably! And I dont recommend it.............

Really, Freegans, should be renamed.
I will rename them Freegains, Freegans is so last week.

Thank you very much, even though we will never be able to meet, I love your knowledge!

Oh if you like Organic Fruits and Veggies. Go to a supermarket, that sells them(if you live in Canada go to Metro). Look in the reduced section late at night and.or early morning. You will find apples, pears and bananas, 5 times cheaper than normal Organic ones. I rob them and it feels great.

Is it still freeganism if you cash the stuff in? Thats just a form of economic scavenging. I think freeganism is based on the premise of dissociating yourself with the transfer of money and thus being unassociated with the capitalist society

Yeah, but if you cannot change the system of exchange in the system, exchange with it until you have enough to exchange for your freedom from the system.

what are you saving up for?
or do you just mean to have enough money to keep living without an official tax-paying job?
