Re: Anxiety attacks, and how you deal with em? [Re: Modizu]

I seriously doubt you have given breathing an honest effort.
One or two deep breaths won't do it.
It takes practice and persistence to do.

You are not breathing properly.
Not only when your having the attacks.
You are not breathing right on a daily basis.
Short shallow breaths are inefficient.
A full deep breath won't make your chest puff out
it will make your belly puff out first
then the chest will rise a little

Even if you have a chemical imbalance towards anxiety
proper breathing will work.

Dr's should only give anxiety meds for a few weeks
and send the patient to a breathing specialist.

That would solve the problem but.....
Dr's won't do that because they are
just puppets of the big pharm companies
and they only want you to take their product

Anxiety isn't an emotional disorder so much as it is
a disorder in your breathing, due to an emotional issue.

It is the side effect of improper thinking.

Medication will not stop this bad thought process.
Exploring and coming to terms with your childhood will.

ive had extreme anxiety & fits ever since i was a baby & young child too. turns out i had Schizo effective disorder with extreme general anxiety disorder.

ide say give an SSRI or SNRI a try (i use Pristiq w/ amazing results) along with some valium or klonopin (high doses).

Ive had a past history of anxiety problems, just havent been as bad as there getting.

I recently had a pretty damn bad one doing a speech in class, worst feeling i have ever felt.

it was horrible.

probably gonna go to the doc saturday and see if i can get something.

anyone with anxiety problems want to chime in, how do you deal with it? what kinda meds would they put you on?
probably xanax im sure.

I had them for about a period of 2 years.  I was put on ativan by MY doctor, though the university nurse (free, thats why i went) wanted to put me on an SSRI, which i refused to take.  I would only take the ativan if absolutely necessary, when i felt like i was going to die.  The way i got over them truly was to not take medicine to deal with them.  I would feel myself getting worked up, get that heavy chest feeling, start having thought run through my head that I was dying, etc...What i would do is get a big glass of water, go outside, sit on the porch, and just look around.  I would 'talk' to myself in my head and try to figure out what the hell was wrong, and re-assure myself that I wasn't dying, why would i be, im of good health.  This was about 6 years ago now, and I have not had a single panic attack since i can remember...

I don't know necessarily what brought them on, or what made them go away completely, but thats how i dealt with them, as weird as it may sound.

peace
