 First tub grow. UPDATE! w/ pics

So after a couple martha grow that went well, I wanted to try my hand at monotubs. Read up on Ohmatics and LargeDoses teks and went from there.
I spawned to 4 quarts of rye from a G2G to coir, coffee, and verm. I wasnt sure how much gypsum would be benneficial if any, so i went without. 7 days later....
 
I cased on sunday, i know i didnt need to case but i figured it would keep the humidity up from the evaporation. When i load a greenhouse i usually do half cased and half uncased. Seems both work just as well and i dont mind a little extra work.
Casing layer was 50/50 peat and verm with a 1/10 gypsum and calcium carbonate.
I checked it bout 20 minutes ago and the it has only colonized the edges of the casing layer, nothing in the center. Should i wait a little longer to patch and itroduce to light and fresh air?

Imo, you should go ahead and induce fruiting. Go ahead and patch the edges and get it on it's fruiting run. Looks good, btw  .

im no expert but i would say induce fruiting. i'm having troubles with an overly colonized casing that i started induction at about 25 percent. looks good though  what temp will you shock at?

i just thought that a cold shock is recommended for inducing fruiting regardless of cake vs casing vs bulk.

Keep patching any MYC that pops up and mist to keep it all moist.
Mist & fan and you will see pins like crazy.
I usually let my spawn run for 10-14 days before I case it. You'll see pins soon.

oh well to each his own, but i dont coldshock my trays so i dont see why i would with this tub. after the first flush i keep it under gently running water for about 3 or 4 hours, then return to fruiting conditions.
NineInchNails, so i shouldnt just set it and forget it? that was my plan. I always fan and mist my trays, but i thought one of the perks of a tub was no maintainence. and ive seen great results with no misting (other then after patching) or fanning. I just misted the casing layer and the walls, and set it in a room with a fan to forget till harvest.
Any second opinions on this?

that's the idea behind a monotub: no misting or fanning required. Before you close it up, mist the sides really well, put the lid on, and wait. That's it.

Ill put em in the dehydrator later but im estimating around 2 dried oz
I love the way south american flushes. and this is multispore. i was gonna clone one of these guys but i think im gonna wait for the second flush. South American always produces monsters on its second and third flushes. Not as many but they are always monsterous.I had a couple the length my arm, from elbow to finger. Im down with the tubs now and after my g2gs colonize im gonna be doing a brazilian, cambodian and golden teacher tubs.

Its a 73qt tub. so about 18 gallons.
the lid wasn't clear so i cut a square in the lid and covered it with clear plastic wrap for more light. probably wasn't necessary though.
