How long can I keep my grain LC before it goes bad if I don't have it in the fridge? The room temp is 81F. Fridge is full of food and such doesn't seem clean. I only need to store the grain LC for about a week so do I need to put it in the fridge? I've read trich is carried by fruit and vegetables and such and my fridge is full o veggies.
Thankyou and I shall 5shroom anyone with any helpful advice in this regard.

Well with an LC all it will do at that temperature will grow more mycelia. I have left my LC's out for a month and they are fine.

is it an LC you made from grain spawn, or a mycelium water strip from a colonized grain jar?
if its the first, id throw it in the fridge once it has considerable growth, it youre not using it right then. another week wont hurt it, itll just continue to grow.
if its the second, you should use it right away i belive(havent done one yet) but it seems to me the little bit of nutrients that are sucked out of the grain with the myc water, might not be enough to support life for the mycelium for too long...

I've used 2 month old LC's that were never refrigerated with 0 contams.. but I use honey water. Would grain LC really be different?

I read it somewhere on here [wish I bookmarked it], that mycelium in sterile distilled water without nutes or oxygen will enter a suspended state and can actually be stored years without refrigeration. The thread suggested the fridge for hot weather.
I would think this would apply to syringes, but maybe not to jars with gas exchange-- and specifically NOT to honey or kero water.
