I found out today that my best friend injected heroin and smoked crack the same night about five months ago. Now I suspect he smokes crack--not everyday--but if the opportunity is there. I feel like I have to avoid him now. I feel I can no longer trust him. I feel disgusted about what he did (and may be doing)...
Should I stop communicating with him? His actions disturb me.

Wow you sound like an asshole. I don't think he's your 'best friend'. He did NOTHING to wrong you and you can't trust him? He can do what HE wants to HIS body. Why should he have to conform to YOUR needs?
Maybe he should ditch you, because apparently you're going to ditch him. So it sounds like he is moderately using drugs, doesn't sound like he abuses anything, sure it's not healthy but it doesn't mean he is going to get addicted. Some people CAN handle their drugs BTW

And to all the people telling him not to where the fuck you going to be after he gets his shit stolen or is in someway fucked by this turning crackhead...I knew this stage had started to occur if you get a call at 3 am looking for some crack. That's when you cut the cord. It was time to get out before something went down. Sounds like people here have had better experiences with flaming addicted crackheads.
Experimenting is OK but like someone said early people with no control and especially with addictive personalities will eventually screw you, it's inevitable. I am with the OP..I despise crackheads and junkies...their disgusting.

I decided to stop communicating with him. There is a line once crossed where I begin to lose all respect. I can tolerate drug use: weed, shrooms, acid, cocaine, etcetera. But injecting heroin, smoking crack is beyond the pale. That stuff is for the lowest, losers willing to suck cock for more. Pathetic and disgusting. I want the loser to stay as far away as possible from me--even if that means I am a shitty friend.
