 Question about agars LC tek

Ok, I am using agars LC tek. Its the first time Ive got mycelium to grow on anything, so its Im excited about it! The only problem is, it seams to be taking a long time, after a week, Im just starting to see mycelium. I actually just kept the cap on the baby bottles, so no air could get in. I was wondering if maybe I could take that cap off, and let it get some GE from the holes in the nipple.
Would this help it grow faster, or would it just invite contams? What if I whiped the nipple down with alcohol everyday? I dont have a magnetic stirrer, and dont think im going to make one, so should I be shaking the baby bottles up everyday?
BTW, I used a tablespoon of light karo per 5 oz baby bottle.
This whole community has been so helpful, and nice, so thanks for any replies!

Tablespoon seems like a lot for 5oz, but w/e.
You're starting from spores, right? 7-14 days, just like always.
And stop looking at your jars, you'll just make yourself crazy.

Thanks doc, yea, that's what Ive been doing from the beginning of this hobby.... making myself crazy! I think I just need a little more patience.

I dont use any gas exchange in my LC just a silicone injection port. I shake about every other day to oxygenate the water. I have kept LCs for 3 weeks no prob without GE.
