It works like any cacti. It can take more light than lophs.

Everyone has there own methods, but I have it simplified.
I now use Ferry Morse seed starting soil about an inch thick in a plastic container. I soak it with distilled water and nuke for 10 minutes. I let it cool overnight. If the soil is a bit dry in the morning, I add more distilled water. I then top sow the seeds or barely cover them. I then hit it with some Garden Safe 3 n' 1 fungicide and snap on the lid. I remove the lid once the first couple of seedlings emerge. And I use the top of my fridge as a heating mat. I have never had any probs with this method. Ferry Morse seed starting soil ftw, if ya ask me.

Bloodnashes666's Cacti Germination TEK
# Materials: Cacti Seeds # Commercial Cactus Soil (I uses Miracle-Gro Cactus, palm, and citrus) # Plastic Party Cups # Plastic Bag # Rubber Band # Grow Lights or BRIGHT sun # Spray Bottle
Steps: # Scoop up cactus soil into party cup leaving about 1cm between the cup rim and the soil. (sterilize soil in microwave before) # Mist the soil fairly heavily but do not drench. # Sprinkle seeds on top of soil and then gently pres the top of soil flat with a finger, but be sure not to pack it down too much. # Mist inside the plastic bag and then fasten to the cup with the rubber band. # Place under a bright light (I use a Fluorescent grow light found at hardware stores that puts out equal to 75 watts but only consumes 15) # Be patient and enjoy the cacti!

remember that growing from seed requires sufficient humidity to get overall good seedling growth. i've lost torches becuase of that same reason. thats why i stick to cuttings now.

Cacti seeds are easy to germinate. Keeping seedlings alive can have a bit of a learning curve.
