 Yet another novel feature idea: "companion forums"

This idea is still crude, might be something or might not be, or might need some work.
As it is now it might be quite a coding challenge.
THE IDEA:
Every forum on the main list who votes for this option, gets a designated subforum (a "companion forum").
The software is such, that the only people who can start threads (or even post at all) in the Companion Forum are those who's post stats show that the majority of their posts are in the forum the subforum is companion to.
Examples: only primarily Mush Cult people can start threads in the Mush Cult companion forum; only people with the majority of their posts in OTD can post at all in the OTD companion forum.
If someone drifts away from their main forum (or, yes, posts too much in the companion forum) by the shifting of his primary forum he would lose posting privileges in the companion forum automatically.
Added measures like postcount minimums and membership duration minimums could be thrown in the mix to assure the regs truly are regs.
It could possibly have beneficial effects on forum culture in the main forums, as the core of each main forum now has a semi-private hangout for the true regulars. Basically a kind of "journal" for each main forum that votes to want one.
Or, it could suck to no end 
This idea can very drastically change the Shroomery forums, for good and bad, so it needs proper consideration.

hmm, i think it is a cool idea. i wouldnt mind having something like that in my main forun (ODD).
kinda like the veterans forum except in each forum and diff rules...neat.

I don't know what I would want to publish in the companion forum that I wouldn't just want to post in Mush Cult. Are you talking about gossiping about the newbs, or meeting up/having a sub-Marketplace? Or am I missing something?

my first thought was "oh no, not another dating forum thread!" when i read the title.
Wiccan the idea is interesting but i dont think it would get put to much use, plus it would push all the thread lists farther down the screen.

As much as I like the idea of having a pubber free OTD companion forum I'll put my own interests aside and say that this idea has no real merit.

This companion forum idea is just as lame as the wanna/b/ forum; it's just another waste of space.
