Dry mushrooms turning soft...

So i dried some cubes in front of a fan for a day or two untill they became crispy, and then stored them in a ziplock bag, and put them in a dark clothes drawer.
I opened them up today and they had lost some of their crispyness and could sort of be "squeezed"...
Is this normal? Or should i have left them in for longer? just curious about if i'm doing something wrong and how to fix it...
How long do you all leave in front of a fan?

yeah the reason that they became soft again is because one or more of the mushrooms still had a significant enough amount of moisture within it and that moisture is causing them to rot. some of the larger mushrooms take a lot longer to dry and need to be placed in front of a fan for a few days and then even placed in a closed container with desiccant.

Caps should be so dry they want to crumble under a slight mount of pressure IME when storing in a plastic bag. Put em in front of the fan. So much cheaper and has always worked so far for me. But I'm about to go invest in a dehydrator.
