In Japan, they have discovered the ancient glowing fungi.

Cool!

One of scientists biggest breakthroughs in studying cell behavior was the introduction of these luminescent enzymes to individual cells.  They have since bioengineered entire species with this property (glowing mice).

Now we just need some mad scientist to combine these enzymes with a psychoactive mushroom and create a new strain of psilocybe that glows!
