It took me a lot of digging around to find good info on the subject, but its out there. Many people like to keep this stuff as a trade secret of sorts. Basically in vitro cultivation is a great last resort to save that rare dying cactus that is being consumed by rot, yet all that is left of the cactus is is some green skin tissue and one areole. Through in vitro, that tiny piece of flesh can grow begin to produce offshoots, soon becoming a whole new specimen. The methods aren't too complicated, but I've been unable to find a source for the required medium components.

This guy has a good assortment of videos that outline the basic principles, techniques and procedures that go along with microprop. It's really interesting stuff.
