probably not subs judging by the purple stem and the lines on the cap, a spore print would help a lot though.

possibly agrocybes but wait for a trusted identifier's input.

It is a Cortinarius species, not edible, possibly toxic!

Don't give up. You'll find the right ones eventually. And if you found them once, you'll find them again every year. Because you'll get a feeling for the right habitats and spots and their general looks. Trying to make your first find is really the hardest. It only gets easier every time after that.

yeap, thanks to western suburbs being bone dry and barren ive had to do a bit of traveling to see any kind of mushrooms

kinda sucks but I've got a whole kit and kaboodle ready for growing inc spores. Just haven't started yet because some guy is fucking me up on ebay regarding a pressure cooker. might try and sterilise with just steam tho

oh yeah, I'm definitely not going to give up. i know I'm onto something but its either some one is beating me to them or im just not looking in the right place. I might put up my photos from today sometime to get an opinion if i am onn the right track regarding habitat.

just so tired now from all the walking so ill have to leave it for later tho

No. Don't do it. Invest in a pressure cooker. I still consider it the most important investment in cultivation equipment I've ever made. You can't do serious cultivation without one.

Thanks for the advice. I think i will wait it out then till i have everything i need. Don't want to fuck up the spore print (pf classic) i ordered all the way from Europe. Ill start a new thread when i get started, but im thinking of doing a few pf cakes cased in verm in a shotgun terrarium and then a few broken up pf cakes spawned into a couple monotubs with coir/coffee gounds and a bit of gypsum.

You CAN do PF Tek grows without a pressure cooker, but if you didn't order from a trusted vendor but, say from the Free Spore Ring Europe, then your print will have come from a hobby cultivator and chances are good that the spore print itself harbors at least some contaminants, in which case you will defeat the whole purpose of the dry verm contam barrier by injecting the contams straight into your substrate. On the other hand, since this is the case, you could sterilize your substrate with a pressure cooker all you want and STILL introduce contams into the substrate when using the print. So if you are going to go the PF Tek route it's really up to you if you use a pressure cooker or not. I personally only grow bulk and germinate all spores on agar first to be able to separate the desired mycelium from possible contaminations.

i bought my spores from "Mushroom Research Centre MRCA GmbH" i don't think its a free spore ring, considering i paid for it. So i'm hoping its sterile. I just hope i don't fuck up the syringe making process. Going to do it in a glovebox.

Those are the people I buy most of my stuff from also.
The spore print will be as sterile as any spore print can be (which is never 100%).
