ID request on several mushrooms collected in Melbourne. Australia (2009)

Went hunting for subs today, found nothing but a whole bunch of inactives. Now curious as to what they are =]
Can anyone lend a hand?

MUSHROOM 1



    * Habitat (wood chips, suburban park area.)
    * Characteristics of the gills (dark brown, not attached)
    * Characteristics of the stem (4cm long, approx 2mm wide, yellow/brown coloured, stringy, hollow, thin)
    * Characteristics of the cap (1.5cm in diameter, deep brown colour with lighter brown center, somewhat rough texture, spherical)
    * Bruises brown
    * Is only a young specimen

MUSHROOM 2



    * Habitat (wood chips, suburban park area.)
    * Characteristics of the gills (light brown gills, not attached)
    * Characteristics of the stem (2.5cm long, 4mm wide, white with orange staining, rough texture, solid, thin)
    * Characteristics of the cap (2cm in diameter, rusty orange, smooth, convex)
    * Orange

MUSHROOM 3



    * Habitat (wood chips, suburban park area.)
    * Characteristics of the gills (Light orangey brown coloured gills, attached)
    * Characteristics of the stem (9cm long, approximately  1.5cm wide, orangey white, smooth and fibrous, hollow)
    * Characteristics of the cap (9cm , orange with darker orange scales, scaly texture, convex, has an annular ring)
    * Stem has orange brusing
    * Has aborts at base of stem

No spore prints as of yet, but working on that tonight.

I think mushroom 2 is stropharia aurantiaca, I'm not too sure about 1 and 3 but I'd also like to know, I've got a big bunch of number 3 popping up in my front yard :thumbup:

1. not sure. possibly a coprinus. could even be a galerina.. i wouldnt trust it.

2. stropharia aurantiaca

3. pretty sure its a gymnopilus sp. may well be psychoactive, but only very mildly. if you like, taste a tiny bit and spit it out. if its bitter, and turns out having a rusty orange spore print, its a gym. i found a couple of them today actually.

afaik its green staining gyms that are active

or at least thats what i want to think now that i had left a bunch on the weekend


but im no mushroom genius

Unless you can find green stains, its probably not active.  Some green stainers are active though.

Look for the green stains on the aborts.
