Is it an un-avoidable part of smoking weed regularly?
I am gonna bet that a lot of people quit toking because of it.
I have seen it with long time blazing friends who after we blaze get a bit of anxiety in social situations.
Seems like alcohol and other drugs are the only way to ease it for social events............ with tight friends this isn't a problem though

I don't seem to get this anxiety. I have developed quirks that I did not have before. I think I have sub-consciously tried to become like a friend of mine... can anyone relate?

for me it works like this.
When I start off blazing with people then I can have a nice social high and it can even make people easier to deal with, but if I blaze myself like I usually do- I get extremely introspective and enjoy being myself ........

I can relate to the thought of taking people's roles sometimes. Like I will sometimes use people as reference point on how to act, because one second I can be laughing at nothing and the next second I can get cynical sometimes.
weed effects my subconscious in weird ways, but I enjoy it too much to quit..............

Social anxiety is a very common side-effect of cannabis. Cannabis can make you paranoid and can immensely slow down your mental tasks which is partly why it causes social anxiety. Another reason it causes social anxiety is because it can also cause plain old anxiety which is usually where the social anxiety stems from. If you smoke regularly for a few years, eventually these negative effects will no longer be an issue. The only problem is, that when you get to this stage, you have a huge tolerance to cannabis and the effects will be very mild, sometimes to the point where you can't tell if you're high or not. But yeah a lot of people quit smoking cannabis for this reason. You just have to regulate your cannabis intake to see what works for you. It all mainly has to do with the frequency of use and tolerance to the drug.

I'm gonna test out hash and see if that makes social anxiety less compared to weed.

Or, anxiety becomes an ever increasing part of your life, both high and sober.
You got to look at the total picture of what cannabis does for you, and based on that decide if it is right for you.
Much overlooked: People who get big munchies a lot of the time, and reduced physical activity, might grow fat because of daily pot.
Many heavy pot smokers dont look happier when they're high, instead their emotions seem more meh while their thoughts get more interesting. Never been so stoned you were hella bored?

At the same time weed makes it easier not to eat when sober and it actually encourages me to motivate myself and work out sometimes to counteract any negative effects that 'smoking' might have.
right now I am deciding if I want to drive in to a meal with some friends, the only problem is that I am the only stoner and here is a good example of weed effecting me- I am not sure if going will make me awkward or if I should overcome my anxiety and just go get a good meal? I am content with sitting in my room on a sunday , I might go though! hmmmm

benzo and weed do not mix well imo. i always seem to get too light headed and pass out with the two or else i just black out and forget everything i did that night. Does anyone else get really fuck up to pass out or black out stage from a benzo weed mix???? This is with out alcohol involved also. when alcohol is involved with weed and benzo it is a deffinate black out and then wake up in my cloths on top of my bed or wake up in a strange house or bed with a strange woman....... it just keep going on. The only time I have done things that I cant remember and I regret when someone tells me about it is when I am taking benzo with weed and alcohol.
if i am drunk and I smoke some weed I get really fucked up and usually puck and pass out. it seems like the only downer I can take with weed is opiates bc it intensifies the euphoria. all other downers when mixed with weed make me sick or just pass out. so I stopped taking those downers/benzos cause I smoke weed all day every day. I get the exact opposite effect from sativa. It makes me happy and have much less anxiety, or makes the anxiety disappear completely. When I do get paranoia from sativa I actually think it's the good kind and indica makes me paranoid in a bad way.

I'm never going to use pharmaceuticals but maybe you should take a piece of the benzo pill rather than the whole thing. Might help.

I don't get social anxiety from weed, though sometimes it gives me anxiety in general.

being in busy places while high seems to kill weed social anxiety- I think the anxiety may come when you are around quiet places with lots of people.
for example: when I blaze at concerts I always have an amazing time without any social anxiety. guess you just gotta do high activities when high!! or at least I do
