 Inoculation Pics, could use opinions

Hey guys,
I have some pics of the first inoculation results. They've been sitting in darkness for around 10 days now. I could use some professional opinions of their progress.
I have to mention, these are the 2 best specimens out of 9 jars. Done in 3 jar batchs, the first 3 were doomed to my ignorance when I injected them when they were far, far too hot. All 3 batchs are likely to have slow colonization because when I prepared the WBS I didn't wash the seeds after I simmered them on the stove.

Dont really even see any mycellium. Slow colonization isnt because you didn't wash the seeds (that will make it hard to break up after colonized) but because the grain is so wet.
Look up Rogerrabbit's grain tek for rye, and instead of boiling grain for 10min just heat it up till it just begins to simmer, otherwise the WBS will get busted kernels and be wet and mushy. The grain should end up being dry on the outside and wet on the inside before loading into jars.

Its WBS. When I looked at the jars I thought the same thing, it was just soggy and falling apart. In the first pic you can see a clear line about a quarter way up on the jar. And these soggy looking spots have spread all the way around jar.

Don't waste your time with that jar, start over with proper grain and things will go much faster.

Last I checked, wasn't 'plaster of paris' basically anhydrous gypsum, i.e. gypsum that has been heated to drive out all the water content?
I'd expect trying to use it as a direct substitute for gypsum might actually give unsatisfactory results, as it would play havoc with the water content. Not to mention that adding water to plaster is an exothermic reaction that can get a bit hot.
Most of the advice I've heard for using plaster of paris involves adding water and letting it set, then grinding it to powder. Labour intensive, but it works.

No, you can add plaster of paris as is. Phantom is most likely wanting to use it for grain prep, but you can add to bulk dry no prob. If the resulting bulk mix ends up too dry you can always mist and mix till its how you want. Usually though the plaster of paris soaks up excess water anyway if you are using straw or paper for instance.

I ran up to the local gardening store looking for the ingredients to start on some new jars. I got the POP that contains Calcium Sulfate Hemihydrate (the gypsum with a 1:2 water to gypsum ratio), Calcium Carbonate ("an active ingredient in agricultrual lime"), and Crystalline Silica which I have no idea what the hell it is. Something with Quartz heated quartz. Is that gonna fuck my inoculations? Also, I asked for rye seed. From the pictures I look up the Rye seed looks like near coffee bean size. The ones there were the grass seed. Is that the correct seed to buy, or do I have to find "rye berries"?

Just make sure it's rye, not rye grass seed. Rye grass is a different plant than rye.
