Berryville mayor says marijuana not his

BERRYVILLE, Ark. (AP) - The Berryville mayor says marijuana found in his pickup truck last weekend did not belong to him and he hopes the owner will come forward "and do the right thing."
Mayor Timothy McKinney was arrested on misdemeanor charges of driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance, and speeding after a traffic stop by a Carroll County sheriff's deputy Sunday on Highway 62 outside Berryville.
The sheriff says the deputy stopped the truck for speeding, gave McKinney a field sobriety test that the mayor failed and found a small amount of marijuana in the truck. McKinney was booked into the county jail and later released on $1,486 bond.
McKinney has been mayor since 1991. He said he routinely has been tested for drug use for his job as a lineman for Entergy Arkansas, and he doesn't use drugs. He apologized for the embarrassment he has caused the city and its residents.
An arraignment date was set for May 7 in Berryville District Court.

Such a crock of shit.
If you or I tryed to say that this is not my pot and ask that the owner come forward and do the right thing they would laugh right in our faces.
If it wasnt his then why is it in his truck?
Mayor or not,admit it.

It's not like they dropped charges because he said it wasn't his. People are laughing in his face.

yeah but as soon as he pays someone to come forward and claim it is theirs, the charges will be dropped, a celebrity did this recently. so lame.
