i wouldn't rotate the FC. inevitably you will trip or stumble or knock into something and your cakes will bang around inside. best to just leave it and allow phototrophism to work as it should.

that said, why not just leave the lights on in the room? or get a small flourescent or energy-saving bulb that you can suspend above the FC? put this on a 12 hour timer if you want (but i've had 24 hours light before)
