 forensic science.... help?

Anyone know anything about it, How bad is the pay, as bad as people say? What about the hours? I'm thinking of splitting my college into it, right now I'm taking gen Ed. and biology, which is one of the REQ. for FS as i know but before i go any further i wanna learn a little more from people who know a decent amount about it, i doubt anyone here is in FS but I'm sure there is someone out there who knows about it

Hm...Well, a friend of mine did Chemistry/Biology I think, and ended up going into forensic(may not be exact I'd have to call he lives out of state now). He started low on the chain, and is now heading up some of the labs. From what I can tell he does real well. Never asked about his pay, but he has a nice house in a nice neighborhood...Nice car. Supports his wife, and her two kids. I mean I would have to say its fairly decent pay.

Ya I know a bit about it. You are in the right place with Bio. You might also want to look into Criminology or Criminal Justice. If those don't float your boat you could also do psychology.
I was thinking of doing that when I was in college so I did Crim and Psych. But ended up going to grad school for Psych so I don't know how it would have paid, but probably decent. Not millions for sure but decent. You also may need a bit of graduate school too. Like a masters. If not it couldn't hurt you climbing the food chain.
I suppose that I should say I was looking into criminal forensic science. Although there are plenty of other areas too.

I'll try to call the guy I know. I haven't talked to him in like 1 year, but I'm sure I can get him on the phone.
I do know the hours...You will start off with shifts that will probably change day-to-day. Meaning one day you may work the morning/afternoon shift. Next day you may work that night, or be on call. Once you develop credit with the people you work with you will probably be put on a steady schedule, but may be on call like once a month or something...I can ask him that also, but I do know that much from talking to him.
