There will be a huge shift in consciousness but we have to go through hell first, its not gonna be rainbows and ecstacy the second it turns 21st december or whatever date, i believe the human mind will disappear, (samskaras), just imagine it, literally losing your mind, what sort of chaos will ensue...the human mind is within the magnetic field of the earth, science has even shown this field will change in 2012, the poles will switch.
There has been scientific readings to even proove that those that use esp, telepathy etc...are vibrating at the same rate as the earths magnetic field thus able to read minds. Even astronaughts say that when in space they no longer feel human desires like money, sex etc...Thats why when awakening realising the human mind is not YOUR mind you can go beyond it. The human mind is something that runs through us as we are humans but the human mind is sooo ancient full of fear, misery, lust, greed....when the pole shifts a new mind will come to society, a mind of higher consciousness.
I hope so anyway...

There is absolutely no doubt that pole-shifts have occurred numerous times throughout history. There is no reason to think this will not happen again AT SOME POINT IN THE FUTURE.
But when we are not even remotely sure about the mechanism behind such a change, any assertion that we can predict when one will happen is simply not true.

Yes, it's not like these things magically flip.
It is a slow migration over large pieces of time.
I'm a graduate of the Geophysics program at the University of Wisconsin and we had a clock up the Geology Club lounge. Just a regular wall clock that was unplugged so they hands didn't move. It was labeled "Geologic Time"
I think it's hard for people the understand the glacial (pun intended) pace of Earth-wide changes. Almost none of them happen quickly on a human scale.
