 my girlfriend dreamt of tornados 2 nights ago

I must say that my girlfriend has uncanny dreaming abilities, I wish I could dream as vividly and in-depth as she can. Various times she has had premonitions in her dreams of events that happen soon thereafter.
2 nights ago she had a dream where first she was standing in a kitchen looking out the window and saw huge tornados sweeping through town so she had to run to the next house/building over because it had a storm shelter in it. She said she felt pulled to the house/shelter, she just knew that's where she had to go. So she ran over to the house and went down into the storm shelter. Then she heard the tornado ripping the top of the house apart. A quilt fell off the wall and behind where the quilt was, was a little door. Again, she felt "pulled" to go inside and did.
Inside was a room that seemingly hadn't been touched for years, a think layer of dust over the bed, dresser and everything else. On the nightstand she saw pictures of this young girl. Then a mother & father came down the stairs and was mad that she was down there. She questioned who the girl in the picture was, and apparently it was her twin sister who she wasn't supposed to remember, who had died. (I'm done writing details of the dream now, no need to further explain)
Anyways, to get on with it. My girlfriend and I both live in Colorado and as some of you may have heard, there was a tornado here yesterday...AFTER she had the dream!
Tornados hardly hit down in Colorado and we sure as hell don't think of tornados too often, ya know?
I figure someone will want to say there's a contest where she can win a million bucks if she can repeat it. She can't, she doesn't claim to be able to either. Sometimes she just sees parts of events before they happen.
Strange huh?

thats pretty wild she dreamed that. I dont think premontion ts all that uncommon as you would think. One of my best friends claims to have this ability. I get pretty bad dejavu sometimes and I just assumer I dreamed what I was expieriencing earlier.

Actually I lived in Fort Collins for a few years, which is just west of Windsor. There were a few tornado sirens a year, and when they did hit, they jumped over Fort Collins into Windsor...it's not unheard of.
Perhaps whenever one of us "normies" dreams of a tornado, they only receive a siren, but your girlfriend is powerful enough to completely manifest her dreams.

i find that lately when im serious about an idea, the universe has its ways of letting my known that im in tune with it and on the right track. Lately ive been seriously considering starting a garden and the other as i was leaving a bar i'd never been to i grabbed a newspaper. The next day i was reading it and came across the astrology section, and in my horoscope it said that i should start a garden. I dont believe in astrology but i found this intriguing.

I've lived without a t.v. for many years, so I have only heard a rumour or two in my whole life about a tornado touching down here.
Nonetheless, I still find it fascinating she dreamt of a wicked tornado hours before it happened.
Strange is the wrong word I guess (I throw the words strange and weird around a lot, I wanna change that), but it's very interesting to me. She's had this sort of dream several times too, sometimes the information she recieves in dreams is incredibly detailes, far more so than in my dreams.

Well I spent a lot of my life in a small rural town, and so I've only heard of a couple tornados in this state...

theres millions of people in CO, its just a coincidence for somebody to dream about a tornado the DAY BEFORE an actual tornado.

Ok, I will try to refrain from using "strange" or "weird" too much, it muddles any meaning I want to convey.
I should have said awe-inspiring! I'm eventually going to have to take a break from the shroomery and come back when I'm more articulated and able to be a better part of the collective here. I haven't made an interesting topic for discussion hardly at all

I honestly don't get the point of the thread.
What if a tornado occurred three days later and a hundred miles further away? Does that still count as awe-inspiring? What are the limits to determine when it is no longer a prophetic dream?
What about disasters that she dreamt about that did not come to pass?

I hear ya man, it just seemed like a very vivid and intense dream, which held a lot of meaning for her (besides the tornado). I don't necessarily think there's a connection, but who knows.
