Normal Salvia Trip??
    #8648001 - 07/17/08 04:57 PM (4 months, 2 days ago)

hey,

Is it normal for one to experience the droste effect during a salvia trip??

Although I had NEVER heard of the droste effect, thats exactly what everyone of my experiences on salvia has been...

Does that happen commonly while using salvia??

here is an example of what I mean:

http://digg.com/design/BIZZARE_Moving_Optical_Illusion

so basically I just "fall" into something like that "forever"

Usually its a point on my wall or something.

It is the most horrifying thing Ive ever experienced.

*I can't even watch that video without feeling like I'm about to go into a salvia trip*

Nothing is normal on salvia, therefore anything is possible. Your trip sounds just fine to me.

droste is very common
simmilar to it is chinese boxes, or russian dolls.
others experience it as flattenning or layers.
the salvia gravity is the same thing but in body sensaton rather than vision.

basically what you experience in any moment does not fade as quickly as in normal consciousness, so you experience multiple momentary gestalts simultaneously,
each with tiny differences.

if your head or eyes moved between moments just a little, you will probably get that slightly angled and meshed droste like effects (with fractal elements)
as your brain tries to mesh the multiple panoramic views.

people often assume that they have arrived in the 4th dimension, since each of the 3 d universes in their minds is very real,
eventually the fading catches up with the sensations and you are back to normal-ish reality.

salvia technically isnt even tripping. it is a disasociative drug.  so what u described sounds normal enough to me. well as "normal" as anything can get on salvia. everyone seems to see different stuff on salvia. there really is no normal concerning salvia.

I've done Salvia quite a few times and I've never experienced it.

did u hold it in long enough? cuz it needs to sit in your lungs longer than weed does to get the full effects.

never happened to me

although i just took a very small hit of salvia 25x and was somehow able to hold it in for quite a long time. i started getting gravity shifts and i looked up at my air conditioning vent on my ceiling and it was moving. as in it was expanding and contracting like on mushrooms.

the first time i have noticed anything like that.

it's common for salvia
but normal,
normal is more about recurring themes and textures for each salvia explorer
