A conversation with my hands [DMT]
    #8140520 - 03/13/08 08:04 AM (8 months, 16 days ago)

Last night I freebased some DMT. The night prior, I had what was without a doubt the highest dose LSD experience of my life. Before THAT experience, I was having a lot of anxiety every time I tried to smoke DMT. Let me tell you there's nothing like an LSD third-eye squeegie-job to get rid of the fear.

So last night I came home from work, took off my coat and shoes, and immediately went for my freebase pipe, loading it with approximately 50 mg of DMT. I had premeasured 80 mg doses encapsulated and this one was just a little more than half of the original amount, so I am estimating 50mg.

I loaded the bowl, torched it, and took 3 or 4 hits. It became immediately apparent to me, upon closing my eyes, that this was not to be a "breakthrough" experience. I opened my eyes to see the world looking simply beautiful. It was glossy, rotoscoped, porcelain, bejeweled, all these things shifting one over the other. Everything seemed perfectly in its place. DMT always gives me a feeling of really being inside of me, and I got up trying to sort of shake it out. It was overwhelming in that moment.

I looked across the apartment at my roommate's door. He's in Texas right now, and the door was wide open. I saw his big comfy bed and I took off at a run. Then i dove through the air. It seemed like I hung there for many moments before I came plummeting down into his big bed with his plush comforter. I rolled over, looked at the ceiling, and cried out WOOOOOO!

Then I lifted my hands to the sky.

I'm always fascinated by my hands when I trip, especially by the way that I seem to dissociate from my fingertips and see them as ten eyes at the ends of my upper limbs.

"Hello," I said to them.

My hands looked back at me.

"Okay," I said.

"Uh-huh."

"All-right."

In between all of these utterances, there was another half to the conversation. My hands' half. It was a silent half. But it was there. Much like with closed eyes one can experience a sort of reception of language via DMT, albeit not in "English" or any other Earthly language, my hands were speaking to me simply by my looking at them and then looking back at me.

I started flexing my fingers, stretching out my arms and hands as much as I could. I clapped my hands together and they were thrilled. i took turns making a fist with one hand and pounding the palm of the other. Okay! All right! Uh huh!

After about five minutes or so, my hands became my hands again. I rose and walked back out into the living room. Still DMT world. Another few minutes before things settled down.

It was good to take a moment to get to know a part of myself.

Glove puppets are a must for you on your next DMT experience.

I can't recall - have you actually broken through on DMT?

The short answer is yes and no.

Do you mean yes to the glove puppets and no to the break through?

Ellucidate...

Haha. I've gotten into complete 3D spaces on DMT, rooms, populated, I've seen some very real, almost tangible hallucinations. I have made entity contact. (Though personally, I feel these entities are anthropomorphic areas of my own mind, deep parts of which are hooked up to a greater Whole and therefore the entities are just as much inside myself and outside myself. But anyway.) But I've never forgotten that I smoked DMT. It seems to me that what is qualified as a "breakthrough" is forgetting you ever smoked DMT and leaving this world completely. THat has never happened to me.

I used to chase it. I don't chase breakthroughs anymore. I just smoke DMT and come what may.

That's how I feel about the beings I've met on and off (especially) over the past year on high level mushroom trips.

I sympathize about the not breaking through part. A lot of people act like that's all there is to the drug. I haven't broken through yet, but I've had DMT trips that were spectacular anyway. My perspective on psychedelics is pretty different because of it. I've seen 3D worlds too. I've just never actually believed I had left my couch.

Props for enjoying your non-breakthrough!
