What do you mean barley seeds? As in you would like to grow your own barley to make beer with?

Not sure how you could get started with planting barley, but maybe a farm supply store would be able to help you in that department.
Do you know that you'll have to malt it before you can make beer with it? Which means steeping in the harvested barley in water, then spreading it out allowing to germinate under precise temperature and humidy control, allow it to germinate for a few days, then kiln dry it to stop the germination. It's a difficult process for homebrewer.

These are oat sprouts. I was cooking grain, for spawn. These wouldn't fit in the pressure cooker. The oats were soaked for 2 days, so I thought they might not sprout, they did, on the first couple of days they smelled like there was some bacterial action going on, but this dissipated, they were rinsed and stirred three times a day for the first two days and once a day for the second two days, the picture title is incorrect, this is day four. They were grown at 60 degrees in a large aluminum colander(this is all that was available to me at the time, I don't think it will matter using aluminum at this stage, but I'll get a plastic colander if there is a next time.)
There is about four pounds of oat malt.
The oats were bought at a feed store, they are white oats.
Has anyone here made ale with green malt?

Do a search for Barley seed ,http://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&channel=s&hl=en&q=Barley+seed&btnG=Google+Search will bring up a lot of suppliers, I have bought seeds from Johnny's, not barley though, and the seeds were good quality.

I dried the oat seeds, they continue to grow as they are drying, there is probably some art to getting it right so the grains are just right to dry when you sprout them.
I asked the the guy at the brewery store about even germination, because mine were all over the place, some with little sprouts just coming out and some with spouts that were 3 times as long as the grain. Anyway, he said, that if you can spout the grain at about 50 F you will get evener germination.
Now I'm padding the post with references for myself, I'm going to give this a try again.

Unless you are doing it for an arts and sciences project or have some serious equipment I would strongly suggest buying malted barley from a vendor of brew supplies. You can buy barley and malt it yourself but its a pain in the ass and to do it at home you will need a large open space durring the right time of year, a clean basement or garage with concrete floors durring the winter is great.
Also you need to figure out what kind of barley you want. There is 2 row barley which I much prefer for my base grain as I think it has a much better flavor and there is 6 row barley which is used a lot in American Pilsners and provides poorer flavor but has a much higher benificial enzyme content to help break down complex sugars into fermentables in the mash, thus making it a great thing to have in your brew if you plan on brewing with things like corn or rice (Icky, nasty, but thats what American Pilsners are all about).
Muttons is a good brand for a nice 2 row barley that gives a good flavor at a decent price.

I have treasure coast prints. PM to trade. Want Pans, Orissa and Nepal Chitwan but will take others. Also want syring blanks with heavy gauge needles or whatman filters.

Malting can be a pain in the ass; my first attempt led to 20 pounds of spoiled barley. But if your up to the extra work, it is well worth the effort. I especially enjoy roasting the malts and toying with unorthodox techniques of drying them.
