Finding the balance between work and friends...

Hi everyone, I just recently started working "part-time" for Trader Joe's which is about 38 hours of the week. I am only 20 years old so naturally I still wanna chill and hang out with my friend, smoke blunts, the usual stuff. I have no problem working but I am just stuggling to find the balance between work, school and my social life. It's kind of hectic and I wish I could hang out with my good friends more. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I was once in a similar situation. The way i broke it down was this:
80% of the time I'm chillin with friends, we're just sitting on the couch, smoking blunts/bongs, watching TV reruns, and generally not getting anything done. When I'm working, i'm making money. Since i have a paycheck coming in and no time to blow it with friends, savings begin to accumulat. These savings come in handy those times (although more infrequent) when you and your friends acutally go out and do something exciting/productive etc. Such as: hockey game and drinks afterwards. Normally, with no job - i would struggle to pay for the ticket, drink two beers, get really high and hopee that fucked me up. post-paycheck I can now blow money when i go out with friends, since i value the time more (now that there's less of it).
Confusing analysis, but i'm high. I think about things differently than most people so if that made no sense, ignore it :-D

Thanks a lot for your post my friend meams. I actually got to see my friends for the first time in over a week and we tripped on LSA together. And I came to the exact conclusion that you ran down for me. Now I will value my friends company more, be able to have more fun than just sitting on the couch asking for people to smoke ME out, and actually treating my friends to a blunt or lunch or some drinks. Psychedelics are powerful teachers and so are these forums.

Meams said what I was going to say
-------------------- -oOo-
"My children," said an old man to his boys scared by a figure in the dark entry, "my children, you will never see any thing worse than yourselves." As in dreams, so in the scarcely less fluid events of the world, every man sees himself as colossal, without knowing that it is himself. The good, compared to the evil which he sees, is as his own good to his own evil.
