okay,
so I ran across this article online, and wanted to share, and share opinion... being .. serious... ..
http://www.quickfasting.com/how_to_bm_.html
it shows a man's technique on how to poo. And he has some diagrams and sounds pretty knowledgeable.
I think this might relate back to: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/7317672#7317672
could our western toilets be hindering our healthy easy poos?!

OK, so in case people are too cautious to click on the link...
basically the author mentions how our colons and intestines have these natural kinks that when we stand upright (or poo sitting upright on a western toilet). In order to ease and maximize our poos (that's a scientific term btw ; ) you need to assume a squat position which would straighten said kinks so the crap can move freely. This would be the same position which a person w/o a toilet would assume if they had to crap on the ground, or how animals in the wild prefer to poo. The author then goes on to explain their own technique to emulate this at home with a western toilet. Explicitly, sit on the toilet, and lean forward as far as you can, grabbing your ankles.
The link is safe, and informative, and i'd suggest taking a look. The author sounds informative and provides helpful diagrams.
But back to the main query.
Could our western toilets be preventing the natural passage of our craps?! Comments? Opinions? Does the writer have something??

It sounds OK in theory, but then I read the testimonials and saw the product he's advertising and that kinda turned me away. I think I'll stick to my current sit and shit method. I definitely don't feel any "kinks" like a "bent hose" when I do.

I don't really get how the position of the legs impacts the shape of the relevant intestine, could someone explain? The website says "as you can see" but I don't see what the legs have to do with the shape.
And the guy mentions the alignment of the colon, so what? Feces come from the rectum, so who cares whether the colon is straight or not?
And him infering that your feces emerge from the colon makes me doubt the rest of the article, but who knows.
Does anyone defecate three times a day? that seems abnormal, and I don't know why he claims it to be the correct frequency. Certainly no citation for this claim is provided : /
