Look man, they put "notify mod" buttons on bulletin board software for a reason. Do you want to come to the Shroomery and see forums full of spam, flames and meaningless drivel that holds no coherency? Would you even come back if that's what you found here?
Consider that the're many shades of gray between all that black and white, and realize that the moderators here are volunteering their time to put up with loads of crap, just to keep this place interesting, informative, and pleasant. We're not talkin' about sending people to jail here, we're just talkin' about keeping the trash talk to a minimum - so that people can engage in intelligent conversations, give their brain some exercise, and maybe even score a laugh in the process.
No need to throw such a negative spin on it; if you don't want to "snitch", you don't have to. As we get busier and busier, we have to deal with more spamming and flaming, and all we're asking for is a little help from those so inclined to give it. If you aren't, that's fine, but there's no honor in demeaning those who want to make the Shroomery a better place.
