smoking inhibits dreams?

I remember not too long ago, I used to have very vivid dreams. It's been probably 4-5 months now since I had a lucid dream where I took lsd, which has been my favorite dream to date - for obvious reasons! Anywho, since then I've been smoking some very potent cannabis very regularly now and I've been having dreamless sleep the entire time. I've been getting great sleep, don't get me wrong, I just really miss the dreams. Is this just me and my experience? Or does this happen to you too?

when i smoke before bedtime, my sleep tends to lean towards the deep sleep stage and more away from the rem dreaming
when i wake up i usually feel a little groggy mentally, but awesome physically

i think that's pretty common. i still dream when i smoke before bed, but typically the dreams aren't nearly as vivid and i have a difficult time recalling the specifics in the morning when i wake up.

for 4 years straight I smoked every day, and it was often the last thing I did before bed - and for those 4 years, i had 0 dreams.
I quit smoking a month ago, and have experienced dreams again. At first it threw me through a loop, it was so odd to dream again, after so long. Crazy shit.

yes smoking weed inhibits dreaming pretty well. if you took a break from it youd see your dream recall would be very good and go the oppisite way of when you were smoking weed.

I always say I never dream, even though I do I just dont remember them. But I been smoking forever and it seems I stopped having vivid dreams as a young man and thats when I started smoking...could make sense since I cant remember the last vivid dream I had in years,....and have smoked basically everyday for years.
-------------------- While driving my overpowered car around tight corners like a maniac all my friends yell out. Hey man slow down, we might Wreck. I reply, Shut up, I drive like Dale Earnhardt. They all look around at each other and laugh. Then one asks me. Hey wait, isnt he dead? Well yeah he is I said. Then I drive like Junior I mumble, while I promptly slow down.

I actually mean another thing other than what you are thinking I am saying. Get it? Good because that's what I meant".

i dont understand how melatonin seems to work for everyone but me. ive taken up to 16mg and no dramatic effect noticed
when i smoke shortly before going to sleep i seem to "remember" dreams more often. eating cheese before bed seems to do the same thing....but eating cheese is usually related to smoking before bed

some people just dont keep good track of their mental state
im very sensitive to any substance because i can discern very subtle effects from placebo and i can also boost the effects by focusing on them
but meletonin really works well as a sleep aid, it doesnt force you to sleep but it makes getting to sleep a lot easier
