I pay about 3.00 a week in gas for my scooter...however the price of milk is now up to almost 6.00 a gallon, and that pisses me off. Fucking diesel prices

Im actually thinking of getting a used diesel pickup truck. Its really easy and cheap to convert it to run on vegetable oil from fast food places, some are already able to right off the lot. It would cost a bit for the tank and filters, but once the intial investment is over, it would pay for itself in a few weeks-months.
My brother inlaw has a chevy diesel, and it came stock with a fuel bowl heater. So all he needs now is a tank, filter, run some fuel lines, and a switch to change from normal, to vegie oil.
Then you start the truck on normal, and once warmed up, switch to vegie oil, and before you turn it of you run normal diesel through it. Reason for this is vegie is a bit thicker, and you don't want it plugging up any thing when it cools.
And free oil is a LOT better than almost $5.00 a gallon.
Just be sure to pay your road tax, else the IRS will be on your ass. Ill have to check in to see what the rates are, im not really sure how they calculate it, if its mileage, or amount of fuel used.

Screw buying a car. Just save up a couple thousand and get yourself a small engine motorcycle. You'll get 60-80 mpg and it'll solve 90% of your transport needs.
I have a 1986 Honda rebel 250 that i bought for 300 bucks a year ago. It paid for itself in a couple of months.
-------------------- "To do right is to know what you want. Now when you are dissatisfied with yourself it's because you are after something you don't really want. What objects are you proposing to yourself? Are they the objects you really value? If they are not, you are cheating yourself. I don't meant that if you chose to pursue the objects you most value, you will attain them; of course not. Your experience will tell you that. But success in getting after much labor what you really don't care for is the bitterest and most ridiculous failure." -George Santayana
