Check on e-bay. I'm not too sure how accurate they are though...

Good idea, you dont want a cheap scale..very good scale suggestion.. i looked it up on e-bay.

while not a milligram scale, ebay also has fairly accurate centigram with calibration weights, for 35 bucks including shipping (.01 instead of .001 for mg, for any curious of definition of where centigram falls)
check for digiweigh scales.
i only mention this because if you were needing to measure ... say, 50mg instead of 5mg, then this would be a cheaper alternative.
but yes, the acculabs are the way to go if precision of your mgs is a must.
