 Learning to breakdance

When I lived in california, I had multiple oppertunities to learn from people who knew what they were doing. Where I live now, I don't see too many people breaking at all, let alone really good people...
I've always heard that this is something you must have 1 on 1 time with a mentor to learn. I'm not a total noob, but can you be fully self taught?
I've heard that being tall is a disadvantage, but my old friends I refer to were 6'+

I'd also like to know. I'm always glancing over at the little gymnasium looking room in the corner of Bally when I work out and sometimes I'll see people in there breakdancing. I'd love to learn that shit, I think I'm going to suggest to them some classes there. Once I get really good I'll take you under my wing as your mentor.

Its not that its really hard, but you need pretty good balance to be decent at it. I stopped like 6 or 7 years ago, but I can still do some shit. I would like to get back into it, but all my friends stopped and I'm not good enough at the moment to join a crew.
