Well, here it goes. I try to keep my time here strictly to the cultivation forums but I was part of a interesting situation at work recently.
Let me explain
I was a private contractor for CNN railway's and worked through one of there sub companies. Anyways, We were doing some work on a track of rail border lining another province (wont mention which one) and on our first rotation up there our boss put us up in log cabins out by the lake, the entire crew drank and smoked weed everyday after work, and I mean EVERYONE. So at the end of the rotation we all made a bet to see who could get the best weed for next rotation, so i got home, got my herb and went back up for the second rotation, we get there and we all immediately went into our hotel rooms and rolled up joints, well this big guy who doesn't smoke weed said he was going to come for the walk with us just to chill, so we let him.
Later on he invites me down to the bar in the hotel and he's trying to pick up a 24 year old mother of two, he is 36 years old with two kids and a wife... So i said whatever not my business but the bartender seemed to direct more of her attention at me, he got mad to say the least but didn't say anything to me.
So i decide its time for some sleep and go back to my room, ended up passing out on the floor of all places and spent the rest of the night in between dizzy spells and sleep, so I get to work the next day we were already running behind so I didn't bother to change my cloths I just threw on my work suit and got in the van, we get to our job location and the owner of the company comes up to me immediately and asks me "wheres your shit" well, I just said I didn't have any left seeing as I honestly thought I'd lost it when he asked since I didn't remember where I left it the night before (I only had 1.5g's left)
So i get out on the track and start working, it got hot so i took off my work suit and another guy asked me if I'd take his jacket back to the truck with me, so I did, I get to the truck and our supervisor asks me "Do you have any on you" well, i was like "no, i lost it" and then buddy that I was drinking with at the bar asked me and told me to just to be honest and I said No, and we stood there talking, well I went to get a cigarette and what do i find in my pocket, my weed....
So, i pull it out and give it to him and explain what had happened, he says to me I'll give it to the boss and explain it to him seeing as he was one of the bosses buddies. Anyhow, as soon as i gave him the bag he hopped into his machine and laughed, about a hour later I ran into some work buddies while doing my job and i tell them what happened and they proceed to tell me I'm a idiot for trusting this guy, so I told them that if he made me out to look like a bad guy for my honest mistake that he would be a snitch...
A hour passes and he comes chugging along on his machine and stops beside me and says "Why were you talking shit about me before buddy" and I say "Your a snitch, you just gave my weed to the boss when YOU know you should have tossed it instead, but you tricked me into giving it to you" so he got mad that i called him a snitch, hopped out of his machine and grabbed me by the throat and proceeded to choke me, I said fuck this, broke his grip on my throat and pushed him down the side of the track (deep deep ditch) he pulled me down with him and I road him like a tobaggon, Anyhow, he got back up before I did because he threw me off him when we got to the bottom and stood over me, he could have done my skull in right then and there but he was smart enough to restrain less the o.p.p get involved and then the company looses their contract.
Anyways, after that it was the usual "Ill get you after work" bullshit, I'm at the point in my life where I'd punch someone in the mouth just for talking about killing people seeing as I truly just dint give a flying fuck about much of anything or anyone anymore but thats besides the point, my pride feels abit hurt while I type this....
Anyways, After work the boss says no one enters their room until he comes in and checks for weed, so what he does is stand there and says "nows the time to be honest people just go in and give me your stash and were going to flush it" so one by one he goes by door and everyone gives him their "entire" stash...or so they said.
He gets to me and he says "accept for you, one, your not the hardest worker, two you brought weed up with you after you were told not to, three you lied to me this morning"
I would use a 80lb jack hammer and pound in rail spikes, or use a 30 pound sledge hammer to put them in by hand, anyone who's done rail work will tell you, if you can do that you can do any job.
2nd, I never received a written notification about a zero tolerance policy coming into effect immediately (it is policy but its more or less, the entire crew brought it up with them and no one mentioned anything about a speech from the owner)
and finally, 3, had i known it was on me at the time of his asking I'd have been honest right then and there rather then later)
The entire point being is, not a single person other then myself got fired and I was honest when I found it on me to turn it in, I didn't cause the physical assault but yet the one who started the fight was not disciplined in anyway nor anyone else.... When I called the company later to talk to the Big boss just to see if I could get my job back he says get THC out of your system and I'll give you a piss test and you'll have your job back, anyways, he also stated that everyone else was taking a piss test when they got back, two weeks later I run into my buddy and ask him if he was given the piss test, not a single person was ordered too and the guy that assaulted me was not disciplined in anyway....
Did I get fucked over or was it completely my fault?
