Are there any scratch kids here? I'm talking Technic 1200's and Shure M44's in this b33ch. This Thursday a friend and I are doing this live shoutcast radio thing from a local record store. We've got a time slot of 9-12 PM EST. I'll let you all know the website and exact details. The site is drum and bass oriented, which is what my friend does, but I'll be spinning and scratching hip hop and trip, too. Peace kids!
PS. If you see this post in Media or OTD ... don't sweat it Mods ... 3D's got my back.

i think user billy cuts is a scratcher. i'm still in wannabe mode . i got a whole slew of records, str8-80's (i know i know, but a pair for $250? cmon), an SK6 and a pair of m44g's. i was really getting into it and learning to cut when i had to move and my whole fucking life is still pretty upside down now. i'm pretty sure i could mix a good set but scratching is still outta my league. can't wait to see kid koala, mixmaster mike, z-trip at bonnaroo. you'll be there, right? checkout http://www.xfaders.com . that's my online cuttin homies. i haven't been there in awhile but they all know me. i used to do online battles with 'em. damn, wish i had the time to practice again. i'll bet i can still pull off a few good transforms and orbits. BTW i am a hardcore vinyl collector not just breaks and hip-hop. my collection is pretty amazing.

Don't sweat it debian. That's exactly where I was about 2 or three months ago. I hadn't practiced in about a year. Now that i've got a place to call my own i can prioritize.
I think I've got the SK6 ... it's pretty weak. I'm about to invest in a Rane TT56i ... check that shit out on www.turntablelab.com I've got one used 1200 ... and a brand spankin new 1210 ... that i dearly love with my heart and soul. I just recently acquired some Shure M44's and I'm trying to invest more money and time into wax acquisition.
ice ... mutitrack scratch songs ... like Q-Bert ? i've been more influenced by Shadow, Koala, Krush, Hermit Kid, Aesop Rock, Slug, Atmosphere and the such. I'm thinking of getting an MPC2000XL or the 3000 and begin making my own tracks. I'd probably do a lot of trip-hop with scratching infused strategically and appropriately.

Yeah like qbert, but I get more of my influence from the nicks and dstyles style of making scratch songs. Making songs from nothing but scratch is truly a interesting challenge.
