i was thinking the other day why the sniper chose to kill everyday people. meaning ... people who were not any more "important" then you and i. no celebs, no politicians, and no military.
i thought, if he really wanted to cause damage ... kill a republican/democrat on the way to his car. kill a general picking up his mail .... then it hit me.
he's killing everday people becuase goverment doesn't care about us. we're just as much a number to the goverment as to the snipers. total kills ... population makeup of DC.
if he had been targeting politicians, military personal, law enforcement, and celebs ... all of washington would have been on lockdown and military check points on every corner.
sad really.

The only tangible things that will come of this whole fiasco is dead bodies and more legislation to keep tighter reigns on our guns.

I rather think he's preying on random people in order to cause maximum fear and anguish. If he were only targeting a specific group, the other unafected groups could go about their daily business with little care for being a victim.
If he were to kill republicans and democrats, he would be improving things, which I don't think is his (or her) intention.

I didn't think of that but you're right --if it were politicians it would be a very different scene now on the streets of the D.C. area. I don't see that as a 'disgruntled' sniper's motive. It would make sense in a government conspiracy to enforce martial law though.... hmmmm. A disgruntled domestic (if that's who it is) could want that as well for some twisted reason. Either way (gov. conspiracy or disgruntled guy or foreign terrorist) the sniper is powerful --I hate to say it but it's true. Will we now become a police state in response?

they're actually violating some law that says the military cannot be used to enforce domestic laws, meaning that there can't be literal military police. but now they are letting the military assist the police. juist another protective law down the shitter and no ones bitching about it.

yeah i agree w/ the fact that the govt doesnt give a shit, during one shooting there was a cop like 50 yards away, w/ that accuracy you would think he'dve taken out the copper, but instead he takes the civilian odd way of thinking isnt it,

I have thought that maybe this sniper could be a hired group working with the government in order to keep fear in the people. I mean, It has been a while since the big 9/11 and people are finally getting back to normal. To keep the people's trust, the government has to give them a reason (protect us from the mad sniper!!). If the people trust their government, then the government has total power. Does anyone see this too?

Not to be a flamer, but I think you have a paranoid/delusional outlook on this. It's more probable that its an individual wacko doing this. But it could be any number of things. There's a report now that a french army marksman has deserted and is believed to be in the US. Who the fuck knows. Its all speculation until they catch this turd.
Personally I think you conspiracy theorists are going to look like fools once this case is over and solved.

I see what you are saying, bluesky....I have had similar thoughts. I'll just say I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it was a conspiracy. I mean, the whole thing is just a little too convienient. We've got this going on exactly a year after the whole anthrax thing and at the same time Bush is trying to go to war (and this has been quite a distraction from his evil plan). I'm not trying to speculate but I agree that the whole ordeal is very suspicious. I live in Mongomery County and I have barely seen the cops doing anything. Its like they don't care. I mean, the only thing i've seen is whenever there is a shooting, they've been closing down ALL the roads (even the interstate) and searching EVERY car. This has happened three times and they found nothing? It just seems very sketchy.
