What sorta bad experiences have you had @ NLQP & staff?
NLQP STAFF MUST BE SHADY AS THE OWNER
Its total bullshit I was out there for about 2 hours Saturday untill I got busted also.When I first arrived I seen them people with x get busted, they all sitting in front of everyone coming into the fest. I was also caught by staff with a buddy he got popped wit a 8 ball powder, and I got busted with 43 hits. Thank god they didn't turn us in, them people who got busted with all the pills must of been givin staff or the cops shit. Cause all the staff did was do the powder, and ate my cid. I fully do not support nelsons ledges anymore, staff is total pricks to people. Because you know what.. caught up ur shit or go to prison. They dont care they will be doing ur shit later, or selling it back to people out there.

So, my girlfriend and I bought some shrooms from some of the staff at nelsons this year... they sold us drugs and when we tryed to sell them the same staff members who sold them to us confinscated them and our money and forced us to pick up trash or they would make everyone we came with leave.
Evan is a crook, and needs to be in prison... I have talked to the DEA and they are gathering evidence as you read this... nelsons is going down this year, and I would hate to be there when it does.

After reading this thread, I went to the web site mentioned. I sent an e mail to the site telling them what I thought about the comments toward TAB.
Evan sent me an immediate, and not nice, email back.
They are better off staying away from this venue.
Same here. "Evan" wrote me back, and called me every name in the book, and had quite a few curse words directed towards me and Avett fans! We are still going at it in e-mails! This guy is a piece of work, and seems unstable to me.

I have to say all in all this past weekend was pretty bad. My first night there I tried to participate in a drum circle and as soon as I walked up to the people they were the most unkind people I have interacted with at this camp grounds. I have been coming to the Ledges for 3 years now but this was the most un-friendly event that I have been to.

Surprising to see this here... but I will comment:
At this point, I'm not a fan at all. I had some of the best experiences of my life in that place several years ago. But now... the fear is so thick you can cut it with a knife. Everyone is sketchy. Everyone is sketched out.
There's no comradery with the staff anymore. They used to chat with us at our camp fires... friendly talks, tripping balls in the middle of the night. They didn't give a fuck. They were just people, relating to other people.
Now, staff is just policing the crowd... like the community outgrew the venue and they're bitter or something. It's sad. There's no sense of community in that place at this point.
The magic is no longer there. But I have no regret.
The love has moved on to greener pastures.

Wow and yikes. 
I have had such great times there.
But I am not surprised to read this. Myself and a group of people were just looking at the water one beautiful Sunday morning and the silence was disturbed when we were harassed by about eight people on golf carts and atv's who proceeded to circle us and cus us out, and when we asked then why they were doing this, they told us that the waiver that we signed meant that they could do whatever they wanted to us.
(note: My friend checked the waiver later, and there was NOTHING in the waiver that said we were subject to such violating behavior by the staff)
They proceeded to follow us around wherever we went, following close behind, talking rudely to us. I did not feel safe at all. Very scary...one guy was the ringleader, an angry bastard, who had so much hate roiling inside of him. And I couldn't see a reason for it. We weren't doing anything wrong; we were just hanging out peacefully.
It totally put a sour note on my weekend and made me regret spending money to camp there just to be harassed and given a heart-pounded experience. 4 years ago, the staff helped me feel safe at events at the Ledges. Now they were putting fear in me. That's fucked up!
How sad to see that they've regressed to the point where musicians don't want anything more to do with them.
Oh well...I will be interested to see how this turns out, and move on to greener pastures.

Yeah, I also do not know what Evan looks like... but the guy on a power trip (who was drunk as fuck and driving dangerously on his golf cart, I might add--almost ran over one of our friends who was sitting down.) was probably about 25, medium to small build, dark short hair, small sideburns. Bumming around with two drunken fat bitches who sat silently while he power tripped all over.

Thats a real shame, but I take everything that someone with a total of 4 posts here says with a grain of salt.
Yeah, they did cause quite a commotion with some Shroomery members at the gathering this year. I was sleeping when it happened.
It's a shame that these people are causing issues with the exact crowd that they attack. I think I just might send them an email for the hell of it. Would it be bad form to mention the Shroomery in the said email?

I would just mention that I was from The Shroomery and go for the gatherings... or maybe I wouldn't. But either way, you gotta think we are valuable customers. Even though we only show up once a year, it's usually at least 30-40 people. This year I think we had something like 60 people. That's a decent amount of money in their pockets, they'd just be stupid to be assholes to us and run us off.

This post is a bit ludicrous, by your admissions I would say you didn't make an attempt to be discreet or else why would they search you. They don;t take kindly to white powder generally anyways. I wouldn't say that to just anyone either, but the place isn't a free for all. "I talked to the Sheriff"... "I talked to the DEA" the only one I'm worried about is you, the ledges is safe. I will cut off my right big toe if NLQP is not around for camping next year. It is to be respected and it doesn't seem like you have any. I have been going to Nelson since I was 14 and I'm 26 now. I have always thought on my feet though, oh and I never went there to do "work".
When someone comes to my site asking for drugs without even addressing the campers or saying hello, they get sent off wishing they had stayed home with their Jenkem stash.
What campground lets you get away with murder? Show me a better place and I will go there. I have been going to the Ledges for over twelve years, I'm not a Hippy, I'm not a Festy, I'm not a Staff douche, and I'm not a Custy... I guess that makes me a local and you know what I don;t fit in with them either.
Sorry I do get a little offensive about the place, I know the ups and downs and I know what to expect. Its my haven when I feel like the walls are closing in.
Here is to hoping that things will work themselves out.

I don't know...I think Effed has some pretty valid points. NLQP is a family run business from what I understand. I think they are pretty leinent when it comes to 'bending the rules'.
I have personally never had a problem with any of the staff...but I'm not buying/selling drugs or doing nitrous on the beach either.

At the gathering one of the staff members came up to my campsite to check my tag to make sure i paid to be there that night, and we had a nice talk about the weather and just other bullshit. I wasn't doing anything against the law as far as he knew, so he didn't have a reason to hassle me. Discretion will get you everywhere, letting it hang out gets you in trouble. I didn't have a problem with the staffs at all.
Oh yeah, the lady at the front gate hit on me lol. I don't think that was hassling.
