 Advice anyone?

So on thursday I started a new job doing concrete forming (construction) in downtown vancouver, it was great, long hours, working with my friends, but today, instead of sleeping at my buddy's house and getting a ride with their forman (who is renting his basement out to them) like i did the first two days, I stayed at my own house. I asked one of the guys living there to talk to the forman about them stopping by my house to pick me up this morning, which isn't out of the way at all. And he said he would.
To say the least, no ride came. So I went and tried to take the train down there (I'm completely broke right now, lost my bank card and have no cash) and couldn't pay the full price for the train, and got kicked off. Well I was pissed, and kept trying, which ended up getting me kicked out of the fucking train station.
So, no way to work, I was hella fuckin late, and with no way to call the boss or anyone to tell them what happened, pretty much completely fucked.
My buddy calls me today, all pissed off wondering where the fuck I was (they got me the job, and it reflects badly on them if I'm inadequate) and apparently I might be out of a job now because of one stoned fucking idiot. My boss isn't gonna accept any excuses, I know that. But is there anything I can do? This is literally the point between being homeless or not right now.

well, the foreman is a higher up usually, just tell the boss he said he would pick you up and he didn't, so you had no ride. But you better figure out a way to get yourself one and quick. A common question on applications i have filled out is 'do you have RELIABLE transportation to work'

Just explain apologetically what happened to the foreman. Most of those guys are pretty cool and he'll probably cut you some slack the first time. If he's a dick about it, you don't want to work for him anyway. And next time, make sure you work out those kinds of arraingements with the forman personally.

Yea dude get a fucking bicycle, shit will pay off like a motherfucker! as for the whole bit of you not getting picked up just tell what actually went down, if your co-workers and forman can't accept their mistake and back you up than they're not a good network to be dealing with.
