 Fucking Tornado Warnings

So the vast majority of Virginia has been under a tornado watch since about 10pm last night. It was originally supposed to expire @ 3am, but now it's been extended until 9am. Lightning and thunder and all that crazy shit and I REALLY want to go to fucking sleep, but I'm afraid if I do I'm going to wake up with a tree crashing through my roof. 
I'm really on edge because last week a tornado hit Colonial Heights, which is about 20 minutes from where I live and it tore through a shopping center and flipped cars and SUV's on top of each other. Damaged buildings and at least 200 vehicles were trashed and dozens of people hurt.
And that same day a tornado hit Suffolk and fucking bulldozed about 150 homes and injured about 200 people.
So I've been waiting until 3am so I could sleep peacefully and now all the sudden everything kicks up again and apparently there's a huge storm cell that's been confirmed as tornado producing on Doppler, heading right towards where I live.
They say I have 45 minutes. wooo. 
This sucks.

There are barely any basements in the Richmond area due to how close we are to the James River which makes the ground water table very high.
When we moved here we looked at close to 50 house and only 1 of them had a basement.

I've been through a ton of hurricanes and tropical storms but no tornadoes, They suck, no warning just funnel cloud and bam you're gone
At least with hurricanes you get a few days warning.

It wouldnt be so bad, but it's fucking 4am and PITCH BLACK outside. I can't see shit and that's the scary part.
I've been through tornados, hurricanes, microbursts and all sorts of crazy weather, but it's all occured mostly DURING THE DAY.
Well aside from 2 hurricanes that hit at night and dropped a bunch of trees. That was scary as hell cause every time lightning would strike you could see all the trees bent sideways for a split second.
The CRACK, boom... Tree falls across the front of my truck.
Hah, thinking back about it, there was a particuarly bad tropical storm I got caught in while driving (and on mushrooms). I went to go pick up my friend from the airport cause he was in town for the weekend and I ate 1.5g of strong mushrooms, thinking they wouldn't kick in till I was almost back home.
Well it turns out it took us like an hour to leave the airport and by then I was tripping very hard. On the way back I was going 10mph under the speed limit down a hill with a sharp corner and right at the bottom of the hill. BAM bridge was completely flooded.
The entire front end of my car plowed under water. My friend had his window open and water splashed in and hit me in the face. I could see my headlights shining under the water....
Man that was an experience. I jammed it in reverse and got the hell out of there before the engine stalled. And as we were going back up the hill away from the bridge a freakin cop was coming down the hill and did the exact same thing I did, except he hit the water MUCH harder. 
Needless to say it was one of the most memorable trips of my life.

well if your not doing anything to prepare for the tornado's then i would say just go to bed if thats what your wanting and it sounds like it.
cuss i mean whats worse being awake or asleep when a tree smashes through your house? its gunna happen so quick nothing you can do about it

tornado warning means it's time to go out on the front porch and watch for it.
erm, well, that is if it's not 2am and home alone.
Then I go down to the basement.

I've got a skylight in my room that sounds like someone is beating a metal trash can with a baseball bat every time it rains.
No sleep for me. Plus there is some pretty intense thunder and lightening right now.
I'm watching on the news that a lightning strike started a fire at a restaurant a few miles from here. Completely gutted the building.
Fortunately it looks like that tornado cell has disspiated, but MAN it's like intense thunder storm right now.
Every time it lightnings my TV goes almost completely white.

Yeah, I usually love storms and destruction. But I am alone, tired and full of Gabapentin and it's pitch black outside.
Usually whenever there's an awesome storm I hit up the front porch and take pictures.

it was pretty intense, knocked out the gas pumps at my part time gig.

What, my picture? That was the first and last time I have ever seen a full size 6 person tent fly over my head more than 50 ft in the air. And we never saw where it touched down, but it traveled at least a mile.
We also found the aluminum frame of a pavilion type thing wrapped around a tree, 20 feet up.
Rain, hail, confirmed tornadoes, 80mph wind... And it all happened about 30 minutes after I ate an 8th of mushrooms. It was a crazy experience.
Then later on in the evening an electrical storm rolled through with a little rain. It literally lit up 3/4 of the sky with one single bolt of lightening. That was the point where I thought we were all going to die.

LOL interesting iv tripped on acid twice and mush a few times, nothing ever crazy like that as happened. Granted ya all experinces were weird/crazy, i would love to trip through a sick storm.
