Cop Tasers Man for Sitting in Chair
    #8372950 - 05/07/08 12:34 PM (6 months, 23 days ago)

main link with video of the interrogation

It should be obvious by now the police-citizen relationship is all about submission — the citizen must submit to the cops or else face “pain compliance,” a somewhat neutral term for torture. Large numbers of cops are no longer interested in catching lawbreakers, they are interested in sadistically torturing their charges. In fact, it appears cops are recruited and hired with this in mind, as the point is to make sure citizens fear the police and obey, as our rulers demand.

Consider the video here, yet another example of a bully cop inflicting “pain compliance” on a victim. As is obvious — dare I say, painfully obvious — the arrested man did not threaten the cop. His crime? He sat down when ordered to stand. For this crime, he was electroshocked with around 50,000 volts.

Taser manufacturers like to say their “non-lethal” weapons are designed for police to subdue fleeing, belligerent, or potentially dangerous subjects. But increasingly the weapon is used to “subdue” people who either do not follow orders or do not follow orders in what the cops consider a timely fashion.

As well, they are used because far too many cops act like Tomás de Torquemada, Inquisitor General of the Spanish Inquisition. But then Torquemada was following his religious beliefs and the Alhambra Decree.

Modern cops, on the other hand, seem to be little more than sadistic bullies.

I feel like he realized he fucked up bad, and tried to placate the guy by having him sit.
Oh well, too fucking bad for the cop.

This is nothing compared what happened to me. Tased 4 times when i had a .284 alcohol blood level and i could barley walk. Not stating my age but 4 burly cops could have fucking taken me. They just went to town tasing me, and after the experience i have no respect for cops, and quite honestly feel bad for them because thats as low as you can get and still have that type of authority.
pigs make me sick, not all, ive met some cool cops.

I will always comply with what a police officer asks of me, and as a result - I expect never to be subject to any of these horrible acts.

These videos are all terrible, and i'm NOT taking the cops side in this (or any) of these horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible videos i've seen. But I have yet to see one that was not preceeded by someone directly disobeying a cops order (regardless of how stupid/impractical/uncalled for/unneeded/unnecessary it may be)

Steps to not be tased:
1) do what they say. 'meh - not that hard.

If what they're asking is unlawful, uncalled for, etc etc. then bring it up with their superior later, or take them to court. If there's one thing these strings of videos have made perfectly clear, it's that nothing will be done about police abuse. Being a martyr may be valiant, and many will side with your cause, but in the end, martyrs die.

Now, i realize this post may go against most of your thinking on the issue. So, in conclusion - Fuck the police.

You know what my problem with is with this?

There are still good police officers out there, but when taser training goes from "Hey, you can use this to take down some psycho and it won't kill them if you do it just once or twice" to "That fucker didn't pay [url=http://mostlywater.org/skypigs_using_tasers_comealong_tool_nonpaying_passengers]his fare[/ur], tase him", then that's corruption and evil from the top down. So it's okay for police to torture people for any infraction now?

It's too bad Phred moved this. I wouldn't have minded seeing some amoral cunt defend these actions.

That cop is scum. If they don't have the intelligence or the patience to deal with a non violent person without causing the person severe pain, then they don't deserve the job. Ive seen situations like that dealt with non violently by cops and prison guards, it takes a bit of intelligence and skill, but it should be one of the main skills taught to cops "how to defuse a situation without using violence"

No, he didn't. The taser is not a 'punishment device' for police to implement vigilante justice when they are being disobeyed. Although I am pro-taser, I do not feel that it should be used in any case where a firearm could not have been justifiably used instead.

ass in a cell, when he gets hungry and sobers up a little he'll
be more cooperative, all they have to do is delay the booking
process... every spent 2 days without knowing if you even have a
bond or worse knowing that your bond will be made easily but you
wont be getting out because you cant stop running your mouth

As I said, I believe a taser should be considered a potentially deadly weapon, and used accordingly. With this in mind, the line is fairly easy to draw. A cop should not be allowed to use a taser except in cases where he would be justified in using a firearm.

Would a cop be justified shooting a person for refusing to stand in a square and answer questions? Nope. Then a cop should not be justified in tasing a person for refusing to stand in a square and answer questions.

The cop should have handled the situation the same way it would have been handled before the taser was invented. The taser is not a cattle prod and cops need to stop using it as such.
