Goddamn. A new addiction. The sci-fi void in my life filled once more! (Doubly so, since I'm also reading Ender's Game at the moment.) Does anyone else watch this show? I borrowed the first season from my neighbors and watched the 3 hr pilot movie last night...I thought it was fucking grand.

I have seen almost every episode. Great show. The original show was good too although it became cheesy in later seasons when the original actors were replaced with assholes.
The current re-imagined show has an excellant cast and crew. And the show is relevant to current events..themes of war, torture, etc. Interesting also how the humans are polytheistic and the aliens are monotheistic.

I really appreciate the show when I compare it to the world of Star Trek mythology, primarily because of the take on religion it uses...the world of Star Trek is a world hinging on scientific rationalism, and that works for them, but I feel like there's a certain epic quality to BSG that is intricately tied into the fact that religion is a part of their lives.

This makes me want to watch my Firefly collection + Serenity again. Classes start Monday, I should get on that.
Tricia Helfer is in this month's Playboy.

I have seen every episode at least 5 times, except the worst 2. I'm a BSG nerd I think you're gonna love the 3rd season, it's incredibly dark for a sci-fi flick.

I likes it. My roommate told me it was great but since we don't have cable we were downloading eps. But the quality was so shitty that i broke down and spent $50 to get some eps on DVD. I think it's a great escape. I like the cast a lot.

I've never seen Battlestar Galactica, but my new obsession is Stargate SG1. I'm watching all of the episodes, so far I've gotten through about 1/2 of season 6. Still have a lot more to go, I'm hooked!!

I've seen some Atlantis, but I definitely like SG1 better. Richard Dean Anderson is such an asshole on the show, I love it.

God that book sucks! I am a big sci-fi novel fan. I heard lots of good things about that book, but I have to say it one of the worst I have read. Its very predictable, ender keeps bieng put in the same situations throuought the book, he keeps reacting the same way, and the same thing happens every time. And the end is so lame, Im sure youll guess it toward the end like I did.
About Battlestar, It was my favorite show for season 1 and 2, but now half way through season 3 I dont really like it as much. Like that stupid boxing episode, give me a break! I have noticed a large change in the style of writing over the 3 seasons.

He is himself his own World, his own Universe; of any other than himself he can form no conception; he knows not Length, nor Breadth, nor Height, for he has had no experience of them; he has no cognizance even of the number Two; nor has he a thought of Plurality; for he is himself his One and All, being really Nothing. Yet mark his perfect self-contentment, and hence learn his lesson, that to be self-contented is to be vile and ignorant, and that to aspire is better than to be blindly and impotently happy.

Wow. Just wow... I don't think I've ever heard someone say Ender's game isn't great... I don't believe for one moment you're a "big sci-fi fan" Just out of curiosity, what do you consider GREAT sci-fi?
