Anyone care to help me with this question? It's been bugging me for a couple days now. I need some fresh insight on this.

I think the root of this questions lies somewhere in the concept that: we only know what we know because of what others before us have found/discovered/theorized. I am having trouble where to draw the line between my own instinctual "knowing" and what society has taught me to "know".
